A remarkable set of (I)GCSE results for Oundle pupils. 🎓

A record 35% of all grades were awarded at grade 9, 61% at 9-8 and 80% at 9-7. The most commonly awarded grade was 9 and the average grade across all entries was 7.6.

Among the highlights:
⭐ 12 pupils achieved 11 straight grade 9s out of 90 pupils nationally
⭐ 40 pupils achieved straight grades 9 and 8
⭐ More than 50 pupils achieved an average grade of 8.5 or higher

Huge congratulations to all our pupils, and to the teachers and families who have supported them along the way. We look forward to welcoming the vast majority back in September as they begin Sixth Form at Oundle.

🎉🎓 Huge congratulations to our 2026 leavers on a truly outstanding set of A Level results, among the strongest in Oundle's history.

✨A*: 27%
✨A*-A: 64%
✨A*-B: 86%

Special congratulations to the 17 pupils who achieved straight A* grades, and to the 77 pupils who secured straight A*/A grades. 🙌

We are delighted that the vast majority of our leavers have secured places at one of their chosen universities, including twelve Oxford and Cambridge applicants.

Be very proud of everything you have achieved, not only these exceptional results, but also all you contributed to the life of Oundle during your time here. We look forward to following your next adventures. 💫📚

The latest academic year was Oundle’s busiest on record for educational visits, with 360 day, residential and overseas trips.

Here’s a look at one that was particularly special: the Sixth Form Biology expedition to Indonesia, which took place earlier this summer.

From carrying out ecological surveys in the tropical rainforest of Sulawesi to studying coral reef ecosystems in the Coral Triangle, pupils worked alongside scientists and conservationists in one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth. Their fieldwork contributed to ongoing research while giving them a deeper understanding of the natural world and the importance of protecting it.

With groundworks now underway, McMurray House has reached an important new milestone in its development, with the main construction phase set to begin shortly.

Located in the heart of Oundle, next to the Great Hall and moments from SciTec, McMurray House celebrates the central role boarding plays in life at Oundle while representing a significant investment in the School's future.

We’re halfway through the summer holiday, which feels like the perfect moment to share these simple, practical tips from our Head Librarian, Andrea, on encouraging children to read more. 📚

We could listen to Andrea talk about reading all day. Deeply passionate, but always realistic. No judgement, no impossible expectations, just a genuine desire to help everyone find joy in reading and make it a bigger part of their lives. ✨📖

When art imitates life… 🎨

Using photographs of landmark Oundle buildings taken over the years by our School photographer, our Third Form pupils created their own Lino prints, carefully drawing, carving, and printing each design.

We are incredibly proud of one of our chefs, Terri, who took part in the national final of the School Chef of the Year (SCOTY) competition earlier this month.

Finalists had to create a main course and dessert on a budget of just £1.75 per person. Terri served pork dumpling lasagne with crispy chilli beans and fresh cucumber sesame slaw, followed by custard mango sticky rice with raspberries and kiwi.

“To finish among the top 12 school chefs in the country feels like a huge achievement, especially as I have only been working in school catering for two years. The whole experience was exciting, challenging and a real confidence boost. I was proud to represent Oundle and so grateful for all the support I received.”
