A friendly reminder that Secret Shopping is BACK! 🛍️

Secret Shopping is an opportunity for children across the school to buy a gift for someone in their family, which will be wrapped by one of our professional elves. 🎄🎁 It's a great chance for the PTA to support the school with vital fundraising 👌

Please bring in your gift donations on either Monday 6th or Tuesday 7th December, either with your child to the classroom, or via the office.

Donations must be an unwrapped gift up to the value of £5 and may include toiletries, candles, chocolates (please check expiry date!), toys etc. Please ensure items are brand new or in an ‘as new’ condition.

9 November 2021 - Ottery play area to get £50k revamp, with 12 metre zip wire - East Devon An Ottery play area, designed by more than 200 local children, is getting a £50,000 revamp, with new equipment including a ground level trampoline and a 12 metre zip wire

This is a behind the scenes role, you wouldn't be expected to attend meetings or events and it can be a temporary position for someone. Without a new treasurer the PTA will have to shut up shop until someone comes forward 😢

Dear Parents/Carers,

As a PTA, we have been discussing the £10K money that we had previously earmarked to contribute towards a project for installing a roof over our swimming pool, to enable our wonderful facility to be used all year round. However, to-date, and despite many attempts and hard work by a sub-committee, we have been unable to make any significant progress on this project.

We are therefore proposing to temporarily 'unringfence' this £10K in the short-term, to enable it to be used for other projects. As you will appreciate, the pandemic has had a significant impact on the school's finances, and whilst government funding has helped to a certain extent, there are still many deficits for supplies and resources around the school that the school budget will struggle to meet.

We realise that many of you will have contributed to PTA fundraising in the past, in the knowledge that this money was contributing towards the pool roof project. Therefore we wanted to be completely transparent with the fact that, whilst our fundraising will continue when it's safe to do so, to enable us to bolster our funds and put money back into the pool roof project, if and when it is needed, the £10K currently in our bank account will now be freed up to enable it to meet requests for spending across the school. As always, any request for money will be discussed by the PTA and voted on by the committee, to ensure due consideration is given to any request received.

This week the PTA supplied the school teachers and staff with a hamper of chocolate treats to keep spirits high during what is a really challenging time 😊 I'm sure you'll all agree that it's a well deserved treat!

Please be aware that decisions about timetables, curriculum and groupings are yet to be confirmed, and schooling is unlikely to be full time.
