During our Gruffalo themed sessions this week we heard the Gruffalo story, looked at a snake skin and preserved grass snake and slow worm in jars, made clay animals, visited some of the animals (swapping the Gruffalo for bears!), and made bubble snakes!

For Thursdays session, in relation to the weather; we have lots of shade under the trees and parachute canopy in the Play Wild garden, and I'm happy to top up water bottles/ provide extra drinks as and when required. On Tuesday we went for a short walk up to see a couple of animals in the shade beyond the bears, and where there's lots of trees by the wolves, and boar, and it felt much cooler up there. Donna

As part of the "Gruffalo" theme this week we'll be making bubble snakes. If you have an old sock (holey is fine, I can make it work) and plastic bottles (smaller bottles is better) and you'd like to bring in, then feel free to do so, if not please don't worry I have plenty spare! We'll also go and visit some animals from the story. Sadly we don't have a Gruffalo 🤣 though we do have bears! 🐻

Here at Play Wild outdoor play group in Wildwood, Escot, Ottery St Mary, we have been mark making! We made paint using mud and water, we smashed chalk and mixed it with water to make chalk paint, and we painted ice! Along with cooking on the camp fire, getting mucky in the mud kitchen, water play and much more!

We have 2 robin fledglings who are spending a lot of time in Play Wild garden (including my shed if I leave the door open!). Robbie and Roberta are proud parents!
