🤷♀️Is it important to support the development of children’s fine motor skills?
🐸Yes it is!
💚In the early years all learning is connected…
🌟Fine motor skills are fundamental to children’s growth and cognitive development, children’s fine motor skills support their independence and have a big impact on learning later on, such as maths and writing.
✋Fine motor activities involves precise actions, usually with hands. Control over small muscle groups is needed as well as concentration and hand eye coordination.
💪Gross motor activities involve larger body movements, supporting balance and spatial awareness.
💚These areas of skill overlap so children’s play throughout the day is planned to incorporate both.
🐸Fine motor skills are developed as children:
⭐️Play imaginatively with small world toys
⭐️Squash and squeeze play dough
⭐️Concentrate on drawing or painting
⭐️Plant seeds for our vegetable patch.
🎉Let’s celebrate children’s play that supports the development of their fine motor skills!
