Today on National School Governors’ Awareness Day, Thursday, 12th February 2026.

I want to take the opportunity thank my LGB for their continued support and commitment to our school in their volunteer role and share what I love about being a governor.

I’ve proudly been a school governor for over 7 years, including the last 5 as Chair. What I value most is the relationships — working closely with the Headteacher, staff, parents and pupils to build a strong, supportive school community. Seeing the positive impact on young people’s confidence, wellbeing and opportunities makes it incredibly rewarding, and I feel very privileged to play even a small part in that journey.
