It's finally here! If you work with children and young people, this is for you.
The world has got drastically more scary for the LGBTQIA+ community over the last year. It's been tough for everyone.
But just imagine how worse it would feel if you were witnessing everything that's going on whilst simultaneously figuring out your own identity and how you fit into the world. Everything you see is trying to tell you that the person you know yourself to be is wrong, dangerous and a magnet for abuse and harassment.
That's the reality for LGBTQIA+ young people in the UK today.
It's up to us to change that narrative.
It's up to us to make sure our young people know that despite what they see in the media and on the streets, there are also people who do understand, support and care for them.
It's up to us to make sure we have the knowledge and skills so we can step in when we witness homophobia or transphobia, or dead-naming, or ignorance.
And we know how hard it can be to find clear, impartial, non-inflammatory information and training that is based on current UK law and professional guidance.
So we wrote it.
We built it.
The Rainbow Wise LGBTQ+ training for professionals is here. 🏳️🌈
It's perfect for tutors, youth workers, independent providers, childminders, youth counsellors, club leaders, foster carers and anyone else who works or cares for children and young people.
We've spent a year making it the most robust, comprehensive and well-researched product it can possibly be.
It's both a training course (which takes roughly one hour to go through start to finish) and a treasure chest of references, links and resources that you get access to for a whole year.
It's £45, for a whole 12 months. I know. We have deliberately kept it as affordable as we possibly can.
And it's here.
There is also a version of this training that is for schools and colleges to engage with as an organisation and it will be ready in another couple of weeks. Our first school is going through it this week. 😀
Please react, comment and share.
Let's get this out into the world as loudly and as far reaching as possible so we can collectively level up to support our young folks. They really need us to.
