Training provider recommendation: GSG Training, Inverness - earlier this year, before the Covid-19 lockdown, I was very fortunate to be able to attend a first aid CPD day with Gregory Gavin of GSG Training (which was co-organised through NFPS Ltd.) The course was excellent, providing me with some great updates regarding first aid and also the opportunity to be observed, thereby renewing my sector competence in the area. Gregory is a superb trainer with years of experience, and it was a great pleasure to be able to train with him. Furthermore, the post-course support Gregory has provided in terms of resources, advice and - in particular - support on risk assessment for training during the pandemic has been invaluable. Well recommended (and sector competence is also vital if you are intending to deliver EFAW linked to the new SIA rules regarding requirements for security qualifications - if this is the case, GSG Training is definitely your best choice to assist!)

Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, all employers must provide suitable information and training to allow employees to work safely.

It seems that a training session on June 30 was the source of the outbreak, and nurses who went....

NFPS have created an excellent Risk Assessment for those having to work in front-line roles dealing with people demonstrating challenging/aggressive or even violent behaviour during the current Covid-19 situation. I would thoroughly recommend it to those working in such settings at present. It is free to download, just follow this link: https://restraintandcovid19.nfps.info/optin-page-ra-2020
