Last week our Catering level 1 students were invited to head over to Lake Vyrnwy Hotel. Whilst there, the students received a cooking masterclass, hotel tour and were even treated to a delicious lunch .

The students had a great day out and couldn't thank Lake Vyrnwy Hotel enough for their hospitality.

Our Level 1 Catering Students had some pretty special visitors in to see them today.

The fantastic Army reserves catering team popped by to speak to our students and set them a ration pack challenge.
The Army brought with them a 24-hour ration pack. Students were then tasked to create various meals, using only the contents supplied.

Our students worked incredibly well as a team to use all the ingredients supplied, and created a range of delicious dishes.

What a fabulous way to start the day!⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Uniformed Public Services group enjoyed a display from the West Midlands Police dog handlers yesterday. They saw the dogs in action in a series of training exercises, including obedience training, finding hidden items and detaining suspects. It was a very impressive display, enjoyed by all students. They also got to meet George, who is a search dog, he enjoyed the fuss from the students.

The amazing Hair & Beauty Students have spent a couple of days this week preparing hair & beauty hampers for all the children at Hope House. The students used the money raised from the Christmas markets to go out and buy various products suitable for all ages. These Hampers were then taken to Hope House by the students. The students learnt lots about how the Charity supports local families and came up with a few plans on how they can help to support in the near future.

Your Space have very kindly sent through a lovely certificate thanking our T Level Childcare students for their amazing efforts in raising a total of £225.00 for their Charity.

What is Your Space?.

Your Space is a small charity that supports young people with Autism and their families, based in Llay, Wrexham. Your child does not need a diagnosis of Autism to attend their sessions. They run fun and social after school and holiday clubs for young people.

- Well done to all the T Level Childcare students for their hard work and effort over the past few weeks, the money you have raised will make a huge difference.

The Winners from the '2023 Rotary Club Festive Bake Off are in!'..

Drum Roll Please.. 🥁

In First Place with their very decorative White Chocolate and Raspberry Cake we have Carrie Ann pollard and Daniel Robinson.

The judges were really impressed with the presentation of the cake and stated that the mix of white chocolate and raspberry complimented each other extremely well. - Well Done Both 😄

In Second Place we have Aimee Davies with her amazing Chocolate Orange Snowman Cake. A very creative piece that definitely gets you in a Christmassy mood. - Well Done Aimee! 😀

In Third place we have Jake Evans who created an exceptional Smores Cake. This cake looked fantastic and was equally as delicious. Well Done Jake. 😄

Well done to all of our Scholar students who participated. All students worked incredibly hard to complete their master pieces and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge set.

Again a huge shout out the Rotary Club for sponsoring the whole event.

Ready, steady, cook!!🧁

After a really successful time at the Oswestry Market last Wednesday our fantastic Scholars - professional cookery students are back in their whites taking on a new challenge today.

The Rotary Club have kindly sponsored a festive bake off amongst our students. Each individual Scholars student has spent the morning creating their own festive delights. The creations will be placed in front of a panel of judges (Rotary club members) who will rate the plates.. there are lots of prizes up for grabs. Good luck to all the students involved!.

A special mention to the Rotary Club for sponsoring this event and providing us with the prizes. ⭐️

This Sunday will see the Bridgnorth Festive Charity Tractor Run take place. Setting out from Bridgnorth Livestock Market at 17:00pm.
This event has all been put together and Organised by one of our Ex-students from Walford and will also feature a few of our present students. A fantastic evening to be had by all, with all proceeds going towards Hope House & Macmillan cancer support. 🚜
