Job Opportunity: Level 3 Key Person – Early Years Practitioner
Location, Whittington Under Fives
Hours: Tues – Fri 8.45 – 3.15 Term time only. Starting January 2026
The post will be permanent, until the end of the academic year 2026. With a review, during the summer term 2026 as to if the post can be extended.
We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our warm and welcoming team as a Key Person at Whittington Under Fives.
About the Role:
As a Key Person, you’ll play a vital role in supporting children’s development, building strong relationships with families, and delivering high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS framework.
Responsibilities:
• Build secure attachments with key children and support their emotional well-being
• Plan and implement engaging activities tailored to individual needs
• Observe, assess, and record children’s progress
• Maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment
• Communicate effectively with parents/carers and contribute to learning journeys
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to team planning
Requirements:
• Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare (or equivalent)
• The setting is committed to safeguarding children and young people. All postholders are subject to satisfactory DBS check.
• Sound knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding procedures
• Experience in a early years setting preferred but not essential
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A nurturing, creative, and proactive approach
