🎓🌈 A Final Goodbye to Our School-Ready Children 🌈🎓

And just like that… it’s time to say goodbye to our amazing school-ready children as they get ready to begin their next big adventure at school. 🥹❤️

It feels like only yesterday some of you were taking your very first steps through our nursery doors, and now look at you — confident, independent and ready to take on the world! 🌟

We have watched you learn, grow, make friendships, overcome challenges, laugh, play and create so many wonderful memories along the way. It has been an absolute privilege to be part of your journey. 💕

To all our children, we are so incredibly proud of each and every one of you. Go to big school, be brave, be kind, have fun, make new friends and always remember just how special you are. 🥰

To our families, thank you for trusting us with your precious little ones and allowing us to be part of such an important chapter in their lives. ❤️

There may be a few tears from the grown-ups today… okay, maybe a LOT! 😭😂 But we know you are all ready to spread your wings and shine. ✨

Goodbye, Class of 2026! 🎓

You may be leaving nursery, but you will always be part of our Early Start family. 💛🌈

Good luck at big school — we are going to miss you more than you know! 🥹❤️

Go and shine, little superstars! ⭐🎓🌈

🧼 Hand Washing

The children took part in a fun and practical hand-washing activity, learning about the importance of keeping our hands clean and healthy. We talked about when we need to wash our hands, such as before eating, after using the toilet, after playing outside, and when our hands are dirty.

The children were encouraged to independently turn on the tap, wet their hands, use soap, rub their hands together, clean between their fingers and around their thumbs, and rinse away the soap before drying their hands. Adults supported the children where needed while encouraging them to have a go independently.

This activity supports Personal, Social and Emotional Development, as children are developing independence and learning to take responsibility for their own personal hygiene and wellbeing.

It supports Physical Development, particularly fine motor skills and coordination, as children practise squeezing soap, rubbing their hands together, turning taps and drying their hands.

It also supports Communication and Language, as children learn and use words such as clean, dirty, soap, water, wash, germs and dry. Children were encouraged to listen to simple instructions and talk about why hand washing is important.

The activity supports Understanding the World as children begin to understand how good hygiene helps to keep our bodies healthy and can help prevent the spread of germs.

Most importantly, the children are developing valuable everyday life skills and building confidence in caring for themselves. 🌟🫧

Our Nursery Spa Day 🌸🧖‍♀️

Today the children enjoyed a wonderful spa day experience, giving them the opportunity to explore self-care, make choices and develop their confidence through lots of fun, hands-on experiences. The children were encouraged to relax, enjoy time with their friends and learn that looking after ourselves can be enjoyable and important.

The children took part in gentle massages, where they experienced calming touch and had the opportunity to relax in a quiet and soothing environment. This supported their Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED) by helping children recognise feelings of calmness, relaxation and wellbeing. It also encouraged children to communicate their preferences, such as whether they wanted a massage and where they were comfortable having one, supporting their understanding of personal boundaries, consent and making choices.

🌳☀️ Outdoor Play & Learning ☀️🌳

Our children have been making the most of the outdoors, enjoying lots of fresh air, fun and exploration! 🥰🌈

Outdoor play gives children the freedom to run, climb, explore, investigate and use their imaginations, while developing important skills such as:

🏃 Gross motor skills and coordination
💪 Strength, balance and confidence
👫 Friendships and turn-taking
🗣️ Communication and language
🌿 Curiosity about the world around them
😊 Wellbeing and independence

Whether they’re exploring nature, riding bikes, playing with friends or simply enjoying the open space, outdoor play is such an important part of our children’s learning and development. 💛

Learning doesn’t just happen indoors — the outdoors is one of our biggest classrooms! 🌳✨

During our boat sensory exploration, the children were encouraged to explore a range of sensory experiences using small boats. The children showed curiosity as they reached into the water, splashed, scooped and moved the boats around.

Some children used their hands to feel the water and explored the different textures and temperatures. They watched closely as objects floated and showed excitement when making splashes or moving the boat through the water. The children used their developing fine motor skills to grasp, pick up and release the objects, while also practising their hand-eye coordination.⛵️
