Distort drummers day out 🥁

Distort drum students Lonnie and Eddie attended the Ben Sharp (drummer for Yungblud) drum clinic last night put on by Bob Wynne.

Outstanding evening and the lads learnt a lot about what it takes to be a pro musician playing at the highest level.

These 2 superb drummers are putting in the work, and attending extra curricular events like this always help.

Thanks Bob Wynne for sorting the tickets !

We are pleased to announce that the Distort 2026 concerts raised £1,000 (Distort gig record!)

We’ve donated £500 each to two charities that are closely associated with some of our students who are a big part of Distort:

• £500 to Leeds Children’s Transplant Team, part of Leeds Hospitals Charity

• £500 to CP Sport (Cerebral Palsy Sport)

A big thank you to all the students, tutors, parents/carers and families who attended and supported the event, and helped us raise the money. It’s much appreciated ❤️

Also a big thank you to tutors Jake and Rachel and everyone at The Parish Church of Royston, St John the Baptist for their generous donation.

See you at the next one! 🎸🥁🎹🎤🎵

Had to post this one. If you were there, you know who this rock star is.

Elicia with her outstanding performance of Fight Song had everyone crying In the room, and the applause and cheers at the end sum up how good it was.

Without a doubt one of the highlights of the day ❤️ 🎤 🎶

3 gigs in one day , over 450 people attending, and money raised for 2 very worthy causes (Cp Sport and Leeds Children’s Hospital)

Blown away with the musical talent on display as always ❤️

Thank you to all students who performed , all tutors who helped , and every single person who attended on the day.

We will announce how much was raised once all the final donations come in.

We will also be posting more photos and videos this week but for now here’s drum student Eddie smashing out some Blink 182 🤘

I’m a firm believer in pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and trying something new.

Distort drum student and jr drum tutor Eddie recently passed his grade 3 bass exam earning himself a distinction in the process.

To achieve this on another instrument is a huge achievement and one to be very proud of.

Big well done to Eddie and his tutor Billy !

Amazing achievement by piano student Lyra . She recently completed her initial grade exam achieving a merit!

Lyra is a little rockstar and it takes a lot of courage and skill to go and achieve a result like that so young. Something all the tutors at distort respect and admire.

Well done Lyra, you should be very proud of yourself ! 🥇🎉🎹 🎶

Another outstanding exam result! This time from Distort guitar student Seth, who achieved a Merit in his Grade 5 exam.

Seth worked hard to reach this milestone and already has his sights set on the next grade.

He’s a great guitarist who consistently puts in the effort during lessons to keep progressing to the next level.

Congratulations Seth!
