Yesterday was a record-breaking GCSE Results Day, and we couldn’t be prouder of our Year 11 students! 🎉

Today, we’d like to shine a spotlight on some of the incredible individual success stories from across the year group — from outstanding grades and smashing personal targets to achieving results well above expectations.

RECORD-BREAKING RESULTS AT UP HOLLAND HIGH SCHOOL!

We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate the incredible achievements of our Year 11 class of 2026! Today, our students secured the best set of exam results in the history of the school.

Here are a few highlights:
● Record-Breaking Top Grades: Our students achieved the highest number of top grades (9–7) our school has ever seen.
● Continuous Improvement: We have built upon and surpassed last year’s excellent performance, pushing our standard of academic success even higher.
● Success for Everyone: Attainment has increased across all student groups for the fifth year in a row, proving that every single learner that attends regularly and brings a positive attitude to learning (ATL) thrives and succeeds at Up Holland.

To our incredible Year 11 students: Congratulations!
We are immensely proud of your effort, resilience, and dedication to excellence throughout your time with us. You have set a new benchmark for future year groups, and we wish you the absolute best in your next steps!

🎓 GCSE Results Day is THIS THURSDAY!

A huge good luck to all our Year 11 students collecting their GCSE results this Thursday, 20th August. We can’t wait to see you, celebrate with you and hear how you’ve done!

Year 11: Results available in school from 9.30am in the Excellence Centre, or online via School Synergy from 10.30am.

Year 10 Statistics: Results will be available online via School Synergy from 11.00am.

Whatever your results, we’ll be here to support you. There’ll be people on hand to talk things through, answer questions and help you with your next steps.

Our Art students have had a fantastic few days packed with creativity, inspiration, and hands-on experiences.

We kicked off the week with two full days of graffiti workshops led by Liverpool-based Zap Graffiti, where students learned professional spray-painting techniques before designing and producing their own vibrant street art posters. The enthusiasm on display was amazing!

Today, we headed to Manchester to visit both the Whitworth and Manchester Art Gallery. Students explored an incredible range of artworks, from Hokusai's iconic The Great Wave in a special exhibition of Japanese art, to inspiring collections of textiles, sculpture, abstract works, and classical paintings.

Every day, our students have embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm, curiosity, and respect. They have been a real credit to the school, engaging brilliantly with every activity.

✨ Year 9 WOW Week in Kraków ✨🇵🇱

Our Year 9 students are having an amazing time exploring Kraków this week. From the stunning views and beautiful architecture to discovering Polish culture and experiencing a different way of life, it has been a trip full of new sights, learning and memories.

It’s been brilliant to see students getting involved, trying new things and making the most of every opportunity. WOW Week is all about stepping outside the classroom and experiencing something different — and Kraków has certainly delivered!

Admin is certainly busy today sharing all of our amazing WOW Week adventures! ✨📸

There have been so many brilliant moments to capture, and this week's visit to Chill Factore was absolutely brilliant! Our students had a fantastic time hitting the slopes, building their skiing skills, boosting their confidence and, most importantly, having lots of fun.

It was wonderful to see everyone encouraging one another, embracing new challenges and making the most of every moment. There were plenty of smiles, lots of laughter and some impressive skiing on display! 🎿😊

🎳🥌 Another fantastic WOW Week adventure!

On Monday some of our students enjoyed a visit to Flower Bowl, where they had the chance to try a range of new activities – including an introduction to curling! For many, it was their first time on the ice, and it was great to see everyone getting involved, having a laugh and giving something new a go.

WOW Week is all about stepping outside your comfort zone, trying new experiences and making memories, and this trip certainly delivered. A brilliant day enjoyed by all! 💙

Our students are having an incredible time at PGL as part of WOW Week! From paddling across the water in canoes, tackling exciting high wire challenges, to working together in fantastic team-building activities, it's been a week full of fun, laughter and unforgettable memories.

It looks like everyone is loving every minute… especially Mr Farrell, who seems to be enjoying himself just as much as the students! 😄

We're so proud of everyone for stepping out of their comfort zones, supporting one another and embracing every challenge with enthusiasm.

Keep making memories—we can't wait to hear all about your adventures!

We're sharing the Children's Commissioner's national survey and encouraging all eligible pupils to take part before the end of term.

This is an opportunity for children and young people to share their experiences, views and aspirations and help shape decisions that affect them. The findings will be presented to the Government, so it's important that as many young people as possible have their say.
