🚌Today our Swans group took a trip on the bus into Wigan to visit Imagine That 🎟️

🦢We are incredibly proud of our Swans, they were all absolutely wonderful from start to finish of our trip🦢

👏We enjoyed so many fantastic learning opportunities, everyone was so engaged in the activites, workshops and science show, it was just fantastic👏

⭐️☺️⭐️Well done Lucy, what a role model to our Redwood children, we are so proud of you! ⭐️☺️⭐️

We’re delighted to recognise Lucy Hopkins from Redwood House Nursery in Wigan for her incredible resilience, determination and commitment throughout her Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship.

Throughout her apprenticeship, Lucy has successfully balanced full-time work, family life as a mum and a number of personal challenges that tested her emotionally and mentally. Despite these obstacles, she remained focused on her goal, demonstrating unwavering motivation and a genuine passion for developing her skills and progressing in her career.

Lucy faced every challenge with courage and determination, overcoming each hurdle while continuing to make excellent progress. Her perseverance has led her to the final stage of her apprenticeship, and she is now preparing for her End-Point Assessment.

Lucy’s journey is a powerful reminder that resilience, dedication and a positive mindset can overcome even the toughest challenges. She is an inspiration to those around her and a fantastic role model for fellow apprentices.

🩷❤️🧡Goodbye Swans💚🩵💙

✨It's that emotional time of year again when our preschool Swan children start to leave for summer in preparation for their big school journey in September✨

💕It has been an honour and a pleasure to care for, teach and guide this amazing group of girls and boys through their time with us at Redwood House💕

⭐️Some of the group have been together since they were little babies, through Tinies, Toddlers and pre school together and it really is the end of an era. They have grown together, laughed together, played together and had the most fun together and we are so incredibly proud of every single one of our Swans, you are all absolutely amazing and will be missed so much⭐️

☘️☘️☘️We wish all of our Swans the very best for their future at primary school, we know you will be super stars and do the best that you can in any challenges that face you, our super Swans☘️☘️☘️

🎉✨🦢✨🎉Swans Leavers party 🎉✨🦢✨🎉

🎉Last week we celebrated our super Swans with our end-of-year party🎉

💕The girls and boys (and staff!) had the best time with their nursery friends making more lasting memories of their time together at Redwood💕

🕸️🕷️🕸️We had dancing and party games as well as an extra special visit from Spiderman who helped the children try a back-flip, dance and even web Angela, Tegan, Caron and Claire!🕸️🕷️🕸️

⭐️What a send-off for our biggest boys and girls before their next adventure to big school⭐️

⭐️✨🗣️✨⭐️Confident communicators⭐️✨🗣️✨⭐️

Kayleigh has recently completed the ‘confident communicators’ project over a course of the Spring and Summer terms.

⭐️Speech, language and communication underpin all of the 7 areas of learning and it is something that we are passionate about promoting at Redwood House⭐️

⭐️Kayleigh is going to be supporting and enriching all of the rooms and age groups across summer to create more communication friendly spaces for all of our little ones⭐️

✨👶🏼✨👶🏽✨Brilliant Babies✨👶🏾✨👶🏻✨

⭐️Our fantastic baby room senior, Stef, and our amazing apprentice Mollie, have completed a 2-day training course called Brilliant Babies.⭐️

⭐️🧠⭐️Stef and Mollie have furthered their knowledge and understanding through the course to make bay room even better than it already is!
The girls have brought back lots of ideas to share with their team to enhance their learning spaces and curriculum for the babies at Redwood - such as:⭐️🧠⭐️

📌the introduction of an interactive family wall
📌stripping back the resources to encourage more focus and communication during play
📌adapting wall displays to be more meaningful and accessible for our babies
📌and much more!

⭐️All of these ideas help to make your baby’s time with us as engaging and stimulating as possible to ensure that their little minds are growing and learning through as much fun as we can provide!⭐️

Kayleigh has previously completed keys to communication in 2024 and on Tuesday would have completed the updated course now called confident communicators.

Kayleigh has brought all of her ideas into setting and has implemented lots of ways to communicate with children and support speech and language.

One key point is reading with children and implementing different ways of reading, this video shows the magic behind making up our own stories and that all the children's different imaginations are valued.

Cygnets have been accessing many activities, creating story packs together, acting out stories and working together to develop the magic of stories.
