Westhead Carnival Committee regrets to advise that we are no longer able to hold our carnival weekend of events.

Todays the day the big fella is in the village hall. If you are passing we’d love to see you and offer you, or your children / grandchildren, the chance to tell FC what you’d really like for Christmas.

Once again it is with a heavy heart that we have to advise the the 2021 Carnival will not be being held due to the continued uncertainty of the Covid-19 pandemic.

We trust that you are all keeping safe and well and look forward to meeting you again in 2022!

Happy lockdown carnival everybody. In truth I’m happy not that be on the field in the rain, but sad to be missing you all. If you are celebrating today why not share it with . Stay safe out there!

Today tables are washed chairs are sought. Bars are put in place and electrics are installed fire certificates signed fire escape plans made volunteers are briefed. On a normal run up to Carnival. But 2020 is no normal year.

Sadly this is not happening today, as planned. If you have any photos you think would make us smile please feel free to share, and for us all to see.

There’s a marquee on the field. If you fancy having a party in it on Friday I for one would love to see you there. Let’s make it fancy dress if you like? Or not if you don’t? There will be a well stocked bar, some good music, and I bet all of your lovely friends will be there too. The fun starts at 19:30.

It's less than 2 weeks to what should have been our Carnival Day! Sunday should have been 'Bunting Sunday' which I am sure will be sadly missed by the people who have been involved. To help you through there are a number of things we are doing to support the Carnival. Kath is making and delivering cakes around the village - I assure you they are delicious, and a bargain at 50p a cake orders can be placed by calling Kath on 07570 814147. In true Westhead style we have a raffle! With prizes ranging from a Pub in a Bag to cheeky bottles! Carol Marsh-pritchard has a 100 Square. Marjie Tutte is offering a socially distanced tea and scone. Finally we'd liked to have been decorating the village, but if you are able to we love to see your bunting in your gardens. Please take a photo and share it with us. Best decorated wins a prize!!

Well. The signs are up. Not our usual ones this year but a cohort (from the same nuclear family) of Westhead Lathom St James' CE Primary School, PTA, and carnival created these gestures to all the keyworkers who pass through our village.
