We loved receiving this wonderful photograph from alumna Sue Wilson, featuring her mum, Miss Margaret Jackson, who studied at Edge Hill from 1947 to 1949 and qualified as a Home Economics teacher. Middle row, at the end to the right.

Sue herself later followed in her mum’s footsteps, studying for a Primary BEd with PE from 1984 to 1987. Sue also shared that she met her husband, Graham Wilson, at Edge Hill, where he studied History from 1982 to 1985.

We are proud to be awarding Montirex founders Daniel Yuen and Edge Hill alumnus Kieran Riddell-Austin Honorary Doctorates during our Summer 2026 graduation ceremonies, in recognition of their outstanding contribution to enterprise and the community. 🎉

Founded in Kieran's family kitchen in Liverpool in 2019, Montirex quickly grew to become one of the UK’s best-known sportswear brands, with recognition now going global. Beyond their business success, Daniel and Kieran continue to show a deep commitment to community impact. Today marks the launch of The Montirex Foundation, a charity dedicated to creating opportunity for young people through sport, mental health support and community-led projects.

Kieran’s journey from Edge Hill student to successful entrepreneur reflects the values we champion at Edge Hill University: ambition, innovation, determination and community contribution.

Honorary awards for Montirex founders | Edge Hill University The entrepreneurs behind multi-million-pound clothing brand Montirex are being awarded honorary doctorates by Edge Hill University in recognition of their outstanding contribution to business, enterprise and community impact.

Calling all History alumni 📚🎉

Join us as we celebrate 50 years of History at Edge Hill University on Tuesday 30 June at 3pm.

Hosted in the Business School Garden Room, the afternoon will include birthday cake, short talks, memories and conversation as we look back on five decades of the department and the people who helped shape it.

Past and present staff members will also be attending, making it a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with friends and former colleagues.

Award-winning Edge Hill University alumna Kazia Cannon is hitting the road with the iconic The Sooty Show tour 🎭

After winning IBM Stage Performer of the Year with her performance partner and touring internationally in Spain, Kazia is now bringing magic, comedy and entertainment to audiences across the UK alongside one of Britain’s most loved children’s shows.

From the classroom to the DJ booth 🎧

Edge Hill alumnus Andy Whitson will be returning to campus this September to DJ at the Alumni Reunion Weekend 2026.

After spending 15 years in teaching, Andy took a leap of faith during the pandemic and turned his lifelong passion for music into a full-time career as a wedding and events DJ. He now also teaches DJ skills to children and young adults with Acquired Brain Injuries through the School of Electronic Music’s BPM Rehab programme.
