Professor Barbara Jack, EPRC Director, and colleagues in the EPRC team have had an article published in Innov-age, a magasine promoting excellence in health and eldercare. The article illustrates the development of the Carers Alert Thermometer (CAT).

Furthermore, Prof Jack's expert perspective comes under the 'spotlight' in this issue.

Dr Mary O’Brien, Reader in Health Research, recently presented findings from a study exploring the bereavement needs of carers of people with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) at the 12th Annual Allied Professionals’ Forum in Brussels, Belgium, hosted by the International Alliance of ALS/MND Associations.

The is raising phenomenal amounts of money for MND research. However, MND research is more than just bench science, it should also seek the views of people diagnosed with the illness and their carers to fully understand their needs.

Prof Bernie Carter delivered a visiting lecture at Edge Hill University on 19th June 2014. The lecture focussed on a new web-resource that she developed in collaboration with Dr Lucy Bray (Reader in Children, Young People & Families, EPRC). The resource is called 'My Child is in Pain'.
