Graduating from Edge Hill with an undergraduate degree in Dance in 2015, Emma trained in aerial dance and performed internationally with companies such as Fidget Feet Aerial Dance, in Ireland and All or Nothing Aerial Dance Theatre, in Scotland. She has also taught aerial workshops all over the world and developed workshops to help performers with self-esteem and body image, informed by her further research and Master’s degree in Psychology.
A favourite memory of being at Edge Hill was dancing with the gorgeous group of friends I found. It was such a lovely, supportive community and I really miss all the classes and getting to try new things in such a nurturing environment.
Her advice to students is when you graduate don’t give up on what you want. I found just after graduating to be the hardest period because I went from dancing every dance to doing part time office work and while I looked for dance work and I almost give up on a dance career. It may take time but you will get there and the more people you meet in the industry and the more they will remember your face for opportunities.

Recently some of our students performed at the Wigan Borough Dance Festival performing pieces from the final year production ‘Are We Here Yet?’, flamenco fusion, and contemporary solos.
Three level six students also worked as ‘Young Producers’ supporting the festival, helping with the management of the event and running workshops.
We are so proud of our students and loved all of the performances! It was brilliant to meet so many young people who are passionate about dance.
Thank you for having us Wigan Borough Dance Festival WigLe Dance CIC
