Our amazing chess team competed at St Thomas the Martyr last night and each played 9 different players. I am so proud of them all!

Children in Elm have been learning about time and have made their very own clock to help in each lesson.

📚✏️ Maple had a lovely afternoon taking part in the National Year of Reading with Rob Biddulph from Draw with Rob.

Using the Draw with Rob Randomiser, the children learned how to draw an owl wearing a scarf and were amazed by what they could create. They produced some fantastic artwork, showing great creativity and perseverance throughout the session. 🦉 🧣🎨

🌳 🌟 Well that’s a wrap on our 2026 residential! We have had a final morning on the zip line and completing low ropes teamwork challenges! We finished off with a tasty lunch and now homeward bound with full tummies. It has been such a pleasure watching our Mighty Oaks reach new heights, we are very proud of all they have achieved. 🌟 🌳 🌳

We started the day by creating our own Maya headdresses 🎨, showing some impressive creativity and concentration.

This afternoon, Mrs Horton’s group took to the water for canoeing 🛶, while Mrs Forrest and Mr Khan’s groups challenged themselves on the high ropes course!

This evening, everyone enjoyed orienteering before lots of laughter and teamwork during Nightline 🥽.

It has been wonderful to see so much resilience, determination and teamwork throughout the day. After another action-packed day, they’re (almost!) all asleep.

It’s been a fantastic first day- Mrs Forrest and Mr Khan have been canoeing 🛶 and my group went tree climbing on the high ropes! Watching every child push themselves to reach their targets has been incredible so far. We rounded the day off with a camp fire 🔥 and some games. Let’s see what day 2 brings…

🌲Forest School Fun at Ormskirk West End 🍃🪵

Children in Elm got their hands dirty making seed balls to help the bees. The children learnt all about bees and why they’re important for the environment and what we can do to help. Once the seed balls are dry we can plant them.
