𝕰𝖝𝖕𝖑𝖔𝖗𝖎𝖓𝖌, 𝕯𝖎𝖘𝖈𝖔𝖛𝖊𝖗𝖎𝖓𝖌 & 𝕷𝖊𝖆𝖗𝖓𝖎𝖓𝖌

Our babies have been having lots of fun exploring a variety of tuff tray activities and free-play opportunities.

From enjoying a little ride on the hobby horse, practicing their balance and coordination, to exploring the different textures and materials in a sensory tray, there has been plenty to discover!

🚗 The ‘World Around Us’ tuff tray, with cars and parking spaces, encouraged the babies to explore, investigate and develop their early understanding of the world around them.

Through these activities, the babies are developing their balance, strength, coordination and sensory awareness, while also building confidence, curiosity and independence through their own exploration.

✨ 𝓛𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽, 𝓔𝔁𝓹𝓵𝓸𝓻𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷 & 𝓟𝓮𝓮𝓴-𝓪-𝓑𝓸𝓸! ✨

Our babies have been busy exploring light & movement.

They enjoyed investigating the light box, watching the colours and light change as they explored with their little hands. They also had lots of fun crawling through the tent, popping in and out and enjoying some playful peek-a-boo! 👀

With different obstacles to crawl through, around and over, the babies were encouraged to develop their coordination, balance and confidence while exploring at their own pace. 💕

So much learning, curiosity and fun packed into one little adventure! 🌟

Kids First Aid Skills ❤️‍

Thank you to Dr Kevin Moore, Moylagh Healthcare Consultancy and members of the Order of Malta for giving up their time to teach our Summer Scheme Kids vital First Aid Skills. They also got the opportunity to see the Ambulance Cars 🚑

The children were all presented with a certificate for completing their 'Training'.

COLOUR RUN CRAZINESS! 💙💚💛🧡❤️💜

Things got very colourful at our Summer Scheme last Wednesday!

Our children, and, our very brave staff, ran, laughed, danced and dodged their way through a rainbow of colour! 🌈

From head to toe, everyone ended up looking like a walking rainbow… and we’re not quite sure who had the most fun — the children or the staff! 😂🌈

A huge splash of colour, plenty of giggles!

With the long summer holiday and cost-of-living pressures, it can be tempting to buy cheap toys online to keep children entertained on a budget.

But please be careful. Cheap toys from unknown sellers on online marketplaces can come from anywhere in the world and can be dangerous.

From super-strong magnets that can rip through your child’s belly, to easy-access button batteries that can kill your child if swallowed, to dangerous levels of harmful chemicals that could make your child ill, these dangerous toys can be deadly.

So please keep safety in mind when buying cheap toys online.

🎒 SCHOOL BAG APPEAL 🎒

We are currently crawling through trouser tunnels and tackling blazer barrages, but one of the most requested items, second only to PE kit, is school bags, especially for post-primary pupils.

You know the ones children somehow forget after getting dressed, leaving the house, travelling to school and then announcing:

“Ahhh… I forgot my school bag.”

I would love to know where all those lost bags go, because we could really use that treasure trove now!

Please check cupboards, under beds, car boots and anywhere else school bags disappear to. A good bag can cost close to £30, and many still have plenty of life left in them.

Ready for their next job as keeper of books, lunchboxes, PE kits and crushed worksheets.

🚂🚗 Our little explorers in the Toddler Room have been busy creating their very own mini world!

🚂 Trains chugging along the tracks
🚗 Cars finding their parking spaces
🐄 Farm animals getting ready for their next adventure!

Lots of imagination and plenty of hands-on fun, our toddlers were busy exploring the world around them. 🥰

𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝟒

❤️❤️ Thank you to Rakia and Charlotte from who delivered the Heartley Heroes programme. An fun, interactive activity focusing on how to keep your heart healthy by eating healthily, being active and getting a good night’s sleep.

💃🕺 Thank you also to Yvonne from who delivered some dance lessons this past few weeks. She had the children jiving, line dancing and playing musical statues.

We finished off the week with some sensory fun and McDonald's Role Play. Chef Serena cooked up a storm of Chips and Chicken Nuggets for afternoon snack. Lots of imaginative play, sensory exploration and happy little chefs!
