Breakfast, the most important meal of the day? đĽ
Recently I have been discussing breakfast ideas with all my clients; it seems to be a real theme at the moment.
We have had lots of different discussions and ideas.
⢠Some eat, some donât!
⢠Some have cereal; some hate the stuff!
⢠Porridge, yes, please. But itâs not for everyone!
⢠Eggs, bacon, etc. Double yes, please, but some canât imagine eating that early doors.
So, whatâs the right answer? What should you be eating for breakfast?
As with all your meals, you want your breakfast to be well-balanced and full of nutrients.
Your breakfast should also fit your goals, help keep you on track, and be something you enjoy eating.
If you have a specific goal you want to achieve but donât enjoy the foods you are eating, it wonât be easy to achieve your goal on your current plan.
Here are some breakfast ideas...
⢠Avocado on toast, a great source of healthy fats, fibre, and relatively quick to make.
⢠Cereal, and no, I donât mean sugar puffs. With nuts, dates, dried fruits with yoghurt, try muesliâan easy, healthy, and tasty alternative to high sugar cereals.
⢠Good old porridge, a staple in many peopleâs breakfast. Keep it simple, or mix it up by adding some extras like fruits, berries, cinnamon, and honey. Itâs really up to you and your tastes.
If you are struggling for time, why not try making some overnight oats, put it together the night before, leave it in the fridge, then wake up the next day and eat.
I make sure all my clients on our mums on the run online programme have lots of options for their 1st meal of the day, foods they love to eat, and foods that I know will help them hit their goals.
Breakfast doesnât have to be complicated; make it easy to prepare and have something you enjoy.
Oh, and donât forget water & a strong coffee to jump-start the metabolism.
Win the morning - Win the day
