Over the summer months lots of work has been happening in our school - both inside and outside - to prepare for the opening of our new Specialist Provision in Mainstream Unit. While there are a few more finishing touches to be added, we are very pleased to share a peek inside our new Acorn classroom. 'From little acorns, big oak trees grow'.

📚✏️ Omagh Uniform Exchange – 2026 Pencil Case Pack Applications are NOW OPEN! ✏️📚

Every child deserves to start the new school year with the essentials they need to learn and succeed.

Pens, pencils, colouring pencils, rulers, highlighters, notebooks… they all add up. It’s one of those hidden back-to-school costs that can put real pressure on family budgets.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors, Terex Omagh and Omagh Credit Union, we are once again providing FREE Pencil Case Packs to children across the Omagh Uniform Exchange catchment area who need them.

Please note:
✅ One application per child.
✅ Applications can be edited after submission, so please don’t submit duplicates.
✅ We ask that only the parent or person with parental responsibility completes the application. We’ve already had a few cases where parents, grandparents and other family members have all applied for the same child! Please have a quick chat amongst yourselves first. These aren’t meant to be surprise gifts… they’re to make sure every child who needs one receives one.

Finally, while these packs are free to families, they are certainly not free to provide. Last year this project represented over £10,000 of support from Terex Omagh and Omagh Credit Union. Their generosity allows hundreds of local children to walk into school with everything they need, and we are incredibly grateful for their continued commitment to our community.

On your marks… get set… GO! 🎉 OPENING AT 10AM TODAY

When you’re coming to the Uniform Exchange today… yes, you. The one who’s thinking…

“Oh, I don’t like taking things. Someone probably needs them more than I do.”

No, they don’t.

Nobody needs all 500 pairs of grey trousers to themselves. 😂 There is enough for everyone.

So in a week’s time we do not want to hear:
“I should’ve gone…”
“I didn’t know I could…”
“All I needed was…”
“I didn’t want to take from someone else…”

This is exactly what the Uniform Exchange is here for. Come on down.

A few things you DON’T need to do…
❌ You do not need to bring a donation to take something.
❌ You do not need to explain your circumstances.
❌ You do not need to leave money. Everything is completely free. (Although some very kind souls insist, so we do have donation buckets if you’d like to help with our running costs.)

A few things we DO need you to do…
🛍️ Bring a bag for life if you can. We have bags, but we’d love to be a little more sustainable.
📏 Have a rough idea of the sizes you need, or bring your child along if they need to try things on.
🎒 Please be fair with branded items. If your child needs one blazer, take one blazer. If you have two children, take two. Your child probably doesn’t need a spare “just in case” when another family could use it.
👖 Take the trousers! Please! We have enough grey trousers to clothe a small army and they deserve loving new homes!
⏳ If we ask you to wait before coming in, please bear with us. We only let so many people in at once so everyone has space to browse comfortably.
🧒 If you’re bringing little ones, please don’t let them disappear under the clothing rails. We will find them, feed them sweets and teach them bad habits. 😂

A huge thank you to the wonderful staff and pupils at Cooley Primary School and Nursery Unit for choosing Marie Curie as their Charity of the Year! 💛🌼
Our rep Liam was delighted to visit the school recently to accept their fantastic donation of £1,212.
The money was raised throughout the school year through a range of fundraising events, including a Daffodil Tea and a Teacher Challenge. Every penny raised will help Marie Curie Nurses continue providing expert care and support to people living with a terminal illness, and to their families, across our local area.
Thank you to everyone at Cooley Primary School & Nursery Unit for your incredible support and generosity – we are so grateful! 💛

Today we finished our school year & said “Goodbye” to our Year 7 pupils. Thank you to all of our pupils, families & staff for an amazing year. We wish our Leavers well as they move onto their next schools - thank you for the memories. ❤️💙💚
