Mrs Bell was an exceptional teacher and a truly inspiring Head of Drama, whose passion for the subject lit up every lesson, rehearsal, and performance. Alongside this, her work teaching Essential Skills Communication was marked by remarkable success, as she supported and championed students, helping them to grow in confidence and achieve beyond what they thought possible. She believed wholeheartedly in every student she taught, always encouraging them to reach their full potential. Her classroom was a place of encouragement, creativity, and care.

To us, however, she was so much more than a colleague. She was our friend. Her kindness, her thoughtfulness, and her warm, considerate nature brought so much comfort and joy to us. Lindsey thought of everyone. Always taking the time to check in and support - and always finding a reason for celebrating with some baking! She shared her life with us and treated everyone as one of her own. We are thankful for that.

The English and Drama corridor will feel very different without her presence. We will miss her deeply, and we find ourselves struggling to imagine school life without her.

At this incredibly difficult time, our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with her husband, her children and her wider family and circle of friends.

📚🌹The Day of Books and Roses🌹📚

Today our KS3 students celebrated the Day of the Book and Roses—a lovely tradition where people exchange books and roses as symbols of knowledge, love and storytelling.

The idea is inspired by celebrations in Spain where La Diada de Sant Jordi sees streets filled with books, roses and a shared love of reading!
📖🌹

Inspired by this, our pupils got creative! They designed beautiful cards featuring quotes from their favourite books (some we’ll definitely be adding to our reading lists 👀📖), while other classes wrote imaginative poems inspired by the story of Saint George! 🐉⚔️

A brilliant mix of creativity, culture and a shared love of reading—well done everyone! 👏❤️

// CHARITY & OUTREACH: CANCER FUND FOR CHILDREN FUNDRAISER //

A heartfelt thank you and congratulations to all our KS3 students and their families for raising an impressive £2,340 for the Cancer Fund for Children during our recent 'ReadOn' event organised by our amazing English Department. Rebecca from CFFC visited and had the pleasure of meeting some of our top fundraising students, including Ethan Duddy who raised an incredible £927! Well done to everyone involved - it's a truly worthy cause. 🤝💙

✍🏼 Poetry in Motion: Year 9 Workshops✍🏼

9G have just completed four weekly workshops as part of this year’s “Poetry in Motion” partnership. Students have looked at how to create poetry using their everyday experiences and memories. It has been a pleasure to receive this from local poet Cat Brogan and to be part of the Community Arts Partnership. We can’t wait to see the finished poems! Well done everyone and thank you to everyone involved.
