Hi Everyone

SAVE THE DATE: 14 JUNE
We are sharing this message with you as people who have supported St Eugene's and its potential to transform to integrated status.

Unfortunately, the Minister has confirmed there will be no future primary school integrated or otherwise at the St Eugene's site and therefore no primary school in the wider rural area between Omagh-Newtownstewart-Gortin.

The community of St Eugene’s would like to thank you and the wider community of neighbours, governors past and present, past parents, past pupils, local businesses and all who have contributed generously and worked tirelessly to support the school.

Outside of the children receiving a wonderful education at the school, the children’s friendships spilled out over into the local community. The school building has been a hive of activity over the years.

The connections made through a rural community hub enable people who move to the area to know the people, know the history of their area and feel supported in their daily lives. This community is grateful for the friendships and community connections they have formed but warns that the removal of rural schools will impact on the health and well-being of future generations in rural areas and a whole way of life will die out.

Now it's time to say goodbye to the school and remember and reminisce about all the wonderful years and memories. If anyone has a story to tell you are more than welcome to share. There will be an open mic session.

On Friday 14 June at 7pm you are very welcome to come along to the school and celebrate the life and times of St Eugene’s PS Tyrcur. Please save the date. More details to follow. Keep an eye on Facebook.
