Well it's that time again to start promoting fights for AKKG FN VII ..... 12 weeks on Saturday til the show , fight No.1 in no particular order is AKKG fighter stepping up into the adult ranks vs fighter Taylor Kelly in this 61kg K1 match up .... Striking workshop is already sold out , grappling one has approx 14 spaces left , at this stage only AKKG students but we might open up the last few spaces to other gyms ..... Well this fight is a long time coming !! A young debut fighter in .ironside was matched to fight back when he was a teen just before Covid hit .... The fight obviously never happened & both fighters have since went on their own journeys with fights and now finally meet on RTD fight night in October !! This one for an ICO Scottish K1 title .... For the first time AKKG will have three fighters representing WKA team Scotland over in the U.S in October for the WKA World championship.
AKKG fighters .0h.04 & David Asalor will all have the opportunity to showcase their skills at world level !! They are all on the hunt for companies to sponsor them to help with the travel costs of fighting abroad , in return for any kind sponsors we will share company details on our social media platforms & also get company logos printed on fight T-shirts for the event .... Any help from companies is greatly appreciated & will help these young athletes get chances like this!! From everyone at AKKG we wish the guys the best of luck, hopefully they can bring home some medals for Scotland team

Finally have a bit of time to give a big thank you to everyone involved in making AKKG FNVI a success .....

Obviously all the people that came to support all the local fighters , the calibre they're getting to watch each time gets a little bit better each time !!
The fighters themselves , without u guys there wouldn't be a show , all the training & hard work that goes into competing doesn't just happen so well done to all 24 competitors
Lee MacAllister & his staff at the Rich Energy arena , you guys work tirelessly throughout the event , everything you do is much appreciated ..... Ring announcer John Sim , been with us since the start & is professional as always same as Dj Garbo , with a great mixture of music throughout the night !! Paramedics Gary , Keirah & Holly , always making sure fighter safety is key ..... Craig who does the livestream , this is a great addition to our shows , Wilson who was the ref for the evening , very fair throughout & didn't take no nonsense from anyone !! Our judges , time keepers etc , thanks to WKA's Stewart Allan for being in attendance , it's great to see you up at our show !!
Elaine for doing all the guys wraps , Thomas, Kieran for doing job as the runners & Lexi & Ava for running the front door , so many people to thank ..... Our two sponsors for the title fights Greenart Landscapes & Fast lane Karting , without your help we couldn't put title fights on the line ..... Last of all a big thanks to all the coaches and cornermen from all the clubs in attendance .... Bob, Lee & Ryan from AKKG then everyone else from Real Fighters Aberdeen , Dundee mma , Rivals gym , Clan Combat , Newcastle fighters & Kilkenny Combat ..... The work you all put in with your fighters is second to none & once again without your support we couldn't have shows to give fighters the platform to showcase their skills !!!

AKKG FNVI ....

Wow what a night , some records broken with this show & with the highs there are always some low points as well so let's try & give a honest verdict on the event !!

Over 540 people in attendance which is the most we've ever had , first time ever as well that AKKG have had fighters the whole side of the home card .... 14 fights , 1 exhibition bout for 2 of our young teen lads, 1 boxing bout where AKKG newcomer Sean found himself on the losing end to a very accomplished Dylan from Dundee MMA
Then 12 K1 bouts .... Debut fights for Arran, Alex, Sebastian & Calum ... Some wins some losses, maybe if we're being honest Calum's opponent in hindsite was possibly too experienced for a debut but fair play for stepping in when Ellis got injured , Calum will be back for sure
Some huge 50/50 battles on the card .... Mitchell vs Radek wow what a fight , for two 16yr old lads what a high standard they show with Radek coming out on top in this one , Findlay vs Keir Crainey in the WKA Pro am Scottish , in my opinion fight of the night , Keir definitely winning the first & striking Findlay into life half way through the 2nd which then turned the fight into an all out war .... Going into the 5th round I had it all square , both lads went for it , I personally thought Findlay's boxing got him through the last round but the judges gave it to Keir winning on a split decision .... Hopefully they can get a rematch somewhere down the line !!
Well done to the guys who finished their fights with TKO's Alex with some nice boxing, big left hook, Kevin Macdonald with a beautiful spinning kick, Barry Ohagan with some vicious body kicks that's 4-0 for him 3 TKO's then onto our main event the return of Lewis Ironside , in defeat he has so many victories in this fight .... Usually fighting down in low 60's let's just say Lewis gained a few pounds in the year out of training, becoming a dad & life taking over a bit , he's been back training this year chipping away getting the weight down & took this dangerous fight against a high calibre opponent when his original opponent pulled out with broken leg .... Lewis started the first round really well but with 10secs left got dropped with crazy leg kicks, got up & beat the count to survive the first round , his opponent smelt blood though & attacked the legs again, no quit in Lewis at all he beat the count a few more times but on the third occasion the ref waved it off with Lewis' best interest at heart .... Fair play to Jordan from Newcastle fighters he stepped in and did what he needed to do .... Lewis now knows where he is and what he needs to do !!
As a coach very proud of all the guys it takes a lot of courage to do what they do & we always learn from the process .... I'm going to do a seperate post to thank everyone but for this post FNVI that was a hell of a lot of fun .... I hope everyone enjoyed it
