In Y6 this week, we have had the Anne Frank Trust in for an amazing workshop on prejudice and discrimination . We have explored all the ways we can use our voices to help ourselves, our community and our world. The children then completed projects which reflected their learning.

We also joined a webinar with a professional who spoke to us about all the different careers in the sports industry. We discussed our aspirations and began to think about the steps we need to take in order to reach our goals.

Year 5 have been using google docs to create a fact file. It was lovely to see some of their parents join us.

Year 5 have been news reporters today. Beware of Grendel the gruesome beast!

Year 5 had a great time digging and making mud sandcastles, making friendship bracelets, and putting up the hammocks.

The year 6 children have been learning how to use bow saws to cut thick branches in Forest School this week. They showed amazing teamwork and resilience.

Year 3 enjoyed a visit from Mandy from the Whitefield Hebrew Community. She helped us to understand some of the main beliefs of Judaism and we learnt that many beliefs and traditions are similar between Judaism, Islam and Christianity. We know this will help us to learn to respect each other.

Year 2 have been learning all about the seaside this half term in geography. Today we have been looking at lifeboats and lighthouses and why they are important to keep people and boats safe at the seaside. Mrs Ward has been so impressed with all of Year 2s work. 🌊🚤
