Bedtime routines don't have to be a nightmare 💤

Now your kids are back at school, it's really important for them to get a good night's sleep. Our Parenting Support team at Oldham Best Start Family Hubs are running a free two-hour discussion group next week all about bedtime routines, especially for parents and carers of children aged 2 to 9.

It's a chance for parents to talk about typical situations they may experience at home, and learn skills that they can use to manage these situations more positively 😊

• Thursday 8 October
• 9.30–11.30am
• Mayfield Primary School (Mayfield Road, Derker, Oldham, OL1 4LG)

More free play sessions for families have launched at Best Start Family Hub — Alexandra 💚

TwinkleBoost is a local charity supporting parents and carers with their children's communication skills.

Using a speech and language therapy approach, the team help families nurture different kinds of communication, including signing and non-verbal communication 🤟

Twinkleboost’s sessions at Best Start Family Hub — Alexandra run every Monday morning, with 45 minutes of structured activities and 15 minutes of free play. All sessions are SEND-inclusive, and siblings are welcome to come along.

• Sessions for babies aged 9 months and under are 9.30–10.30am
• Sessions for children under five are 10.45–11.45am
• Best Start Family Hub — Alexandra is on the Holts estate (Wildmoor Avenue, OL4 5PU)

A little request for all our families and visitors

Please don’t wear perfume, body spray or other strongly scented products, or spray anything onto your child before coming into preschool.

We have a child with a severe allergy to these products, so this is really important for their safety. 💛

Thank you so much for your understanding and helping us keep preschool a safe place for everyone. 🙏
