Crafty Clay is a friendly creative space for beginners to the more experienced potter, everyone is welcome!

We provide a wide range of ceramic workshops, memberships, events, classes & Keepsakes for all ages. A fully serviced ceramic studio providing memberships for potters that can work independently. Based at the wonderful Woodend Mill in Saddleworth which is bursting with creatives alike.

Recent makes as promised ❤️

I can’t begin to tell you how ridiculously difficult it is to photograph pottery in a way that does it justice!

I’m going to make more of an effort to share my own work alongside all of the amazing pieces made by my students and members.

These pieces will all be available to purchase at our next Open Studios ❤️

This evening’s makes ❤️

I’ve been experimenting with some new cosy winter mug shapes using a new speckled clay. I especially love the handleless one 😍

I’m definitely not patient enough for the process of waiting for these to be finished but I’ll share some photos over the next couple of weeks.

I’ll be sitting down tomorrow to get through my messages. Thank you to everyone who’s been in touch and is waiting for a reply.

I just want to share how proud I am of one of our younger potters 💛

He’s only 14 and the progress he’s made with his hand building is honestly amazing. I’ve put some photos together of him making his latest piece step by step.

He’s been coming to the studio for a while now and it’s been so lovely watching his confidence grow. He’s part of our pottery family now (and yes… we do have a soft spot for him 😊)

What I love is how much he just joins in , chatting away with the adults, having a laugh, and not thinking twice about taking the mick out of me 😂

Yesterday really made me smile… I was being pulled in all directions answering questions, and he just naturally answered questions and started helping people without even thinking.

That’s when you realise how much someone’s grown, not just in their pottery but in themselves too.

He’s now started working on a Gollum bust and I can’t wait to see how it turns out 👀

So proud of you ❤️ you’re smashing it 👏

That’s us wrapped up for this term ☺️time for a little rest over Easter, and then we go again for the next 6 weeks.

I can’t wait to see you all back in the studio 🫶
