As we come to the end of another wonderful academic year at Simon House, we would like to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our parents and carers for your continued support, kindness, and trust. It truly means so much to us.
We would also like to extend a huge thank you to our incredible staff team, whose dedication, care, and hard work make Simon House such a special place for our children every single day.
We are also incredibly proud to share that Simon House recently received an award at the Celebration of Education within Oldham, recognising our sustained exemplary practice, strong leadership, and continued commitment to delivering high-quality learning environments for young children. This is a wonderful achievement for our whole community.
What a busy and memorable end to the term we have had! From our Peter Rabbit Graduation, to the lovely Jemima Puddle Duck and Mrs Tiggy Winkle parent engagement afternoons, as well as fun-filled ice cream day and party day β it has been such a special time for everyone.
To all of our amazing children leaving us this year, we wish you the very best on your next adventures. You will always be a special part of Simon House, and we are so proud to welcome you as part of our Simon House Alumni.
The setting will be closed from Tuesday 25th August for one week, reopening the following week.
We hope you all have a fantastic summer and look forward to seeing many of you soon!

πβ¨ Our Transport Adventures! β¨π
Weβve had such an exciting time exploring transport with the children for their backdrop planning! From sharing their own experiences to getting creative, itβs been a wonderful journey of learning and imagination.
The children loved talking about their real-life adventures β from train rides and bus journeys to even a very special boat trip to Niagara Falls! ππ€ These discussions helped inspire their fantastic artwork, which you can see on display.
They have been busy painting and drawing lots of different types of transport, showing great creativity and attention to detail. One of the highlights has been making their very own bus! π
After lots of thoughtful discussion, the children decided to paint the bus yellow, as this is the colour of the bus many of them travel on. It was lovely to see them sharing ideas, listening to each other, and working together to make a group decision.

The Peter Rabbit children have had a wonderful time exploring the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears as part of their back drop planning! π»β¨
They have been bringing the story to life through role play, retelling and reacting the story with great enthusiasm. Along the way, they explored the concepts of big, medium and small, helping to build their understanding in a fun and meaningful way.
The children also created their own story maps, supporting their sequencing and storytelling skills, and expressed their creativity by painting their very own bears.

Last week, our children were set a home learning challenge to discover three facts about bears π»π
We were so impressed with all the wonderful facts they found, and one of our children even brought in a fantastic fact poster to share with everyone!
A big well done to all for your curiosity and effort β we love seeing learning continue beyond the classroom! πβ¨
