Class 5 and 6 visited Eden Camp to explore the history of World War Two. Moving through the historic huts, the children stepped back in time to experience life during the Blitz, discover the leadership of Winston Churchill, and listen to his fateful broadcast declaring war on Germany. They caught a glimpse of everyday wartime life by peeking inside old-fashioned corner shops, examined military hardware up close - including human torpedoes and weaponry - and explored impressive airfield displays filled with Spitfires and military trucks.

Classes 5 and 6 are on their way back from Eden Camp. We should arrive back at school by 4:30pm. If your child is not going to BASC please can you make sure that someone is there to collect them. Due to the time we arrive back, the children will not be allowed to walk home. Thank you.

Class 2 have used the outdoor classroom this afternoon! We have been looking at human and physical features in Diggle and on our school grounds. We have made table to list human and physical features and we have drawn a map of our school grounds using a key.

It was great to be able to cheer and his team on this morning as he started day 5 of his 7 in 7: The Grand Finale. Raising funding and awareness for . Some of us watched from the school field whilst classes 5 and 6 managed to get road side with some posters to cheer him on.

This week in Forest School Year 4 hammered nails into wooden discs to make hedgehogs. The children had to be resilient as if they hammered too hard the wooden discs could split, meaning they had to start again. They used a palm drill to make small holes for the eyes and nose.

Class 5 have been working in groups to research countryside life as an evacuee—exploring who they lived with, their daily activities, what they missed about home, and what they wanted to do before returning to the city. Gathering these ideas will help them to write their upcoming letters home from an evacuee's perspective.
