It would be easy to watch this clip and just see an Acro skill being learnt.โจ
But take a closer look at whatโs happening on the AcroPad! ๐
Miss Liv is correcting their posture.
Adjusting foot alignment.
Supporting technique.
Giving individual feedback.
Offering encouragement.
And helping our students understand how to perform the skill properly โ not just get it done and the students are watching all this in our dance mirrors!
โจWe are training dancers and performers.
Acro is another tool in their toolkit โ developing strength, flexibility, control, coordination, body awareness and confidence that can transfer into their other dance styles and onto the stage.
The expectations placed on young performers are becoming increasingly diverse. Being able to sing, dance or act brilliantly is fantastic โ but the more skills a performer develops, the more versatile and confident they become.
This confidence is then applied to their life outside the studio. Our students are building resilience and social skills too!
Thatโs why we believe in giving our students opportunities to develop across all the performing arts.
Acro. Singing. Acting. Musical Theatre. Piano. Aerial. Circus
Not lots of disconnected classes. One joined-up approach to developing well-rounded, healthy performers. โค๏ธโญ๏ธ๐ค
And sometimes the magic isnโt in the finished trick.
Itโs in the correction happening in the background.
