So today is Toms last offical day at Kingfisher in The Ravens.... sadly hes not there because of Covid19 😔😔😔...but I just want to take this opportunity the thank every single person, who has had any input at all into his development and learning, A MASSIVE THANK YOU 🥰🥰🥰 your all amazing teachers and TA's, he has come on leaps and bounds since joining Kingfisher as a tiny 4yr old....well that now 11 yr old towers over me 😂 and has turned into an amazing kid with all the help, love and support everyone at school has shown him 🥰 A big shout out though to Elaine and Adam who have had Tom for the last 4yrs and defo feel like part of our family...Tom himself will tell you, Elaine is the best teacher ever and Adam is his best friend! .....A little bit of me is glad I didnt hav to do the last day at school, I dont think would be enough tissues if I'm honest, but 1 thing is certain he'll never forget any1 at Kingfisher 😘😘😘

Finally we got to make our sensory garden for Eden, we only have a small yard so had to make it into a safe and happy place. Some before and after pictures 😃 would highly recommend the man who did this for us 💙
Majid Fareed your commitment and dedication to get this perfect for Eden was out standing thank you so much.

📸 Last Friday we had an exciting visit from Emanuel J Burton a professional musician. Emanuel's work focuses on collaborating with rising talents both in the UK & internationally. Over recent years, he has immersed himself in the developmental process of artists like FKJ, Ghetts, Cleo Sol, Mansur Brown, Tom Misch, Sault, Eliza, Children of Zeus and Yazmin Lacey.

The most renowned however is touring and performing with Mercury Prize, BRITs Award Winner and Netflix's Top Boy actress, Little Simz for her world tour, TV appearances and studio recordings.

Emanuel thoroughly enjoyed visiting both Kingfisher and Halcyon Way schools for the day of music alongside Nic Found Director of Specialist Services and Alice from Live Music Now. In 2022, Emanuel established The Abundance Foundation. A non-profit foundation to channel the creative interests of youths. During Emanuel’s visit he was interested to see how the children learn through music and how we support the children to be come resilient. Emanuel was blown away by the schools and the amazing children and staff. We will definitely be working with Emanuel again in the future. Thank you to Alice and Emanuel. 🎶🥁

📸🇪🇸 We have had so much fun in our Languages Day today, where we have been learning all about Spain! We have been dressing up, engaging in some amazing activities in class, exploring lots of wonderful resources in our Studio and we were even lucky enough to have some amazing concerts from Sam Rodwell - Classical Guitarist from Live Music Now where we learnt all about the Spanish guitar and even got to play along with our own instruments! 🐣📸 Over the last two weeks we have been so lucky to have the incredible experience of looking after and learning all about some adorable baby chicks! 🐥
We got to witness them hatch from their eggs and grow into chicks! We even got some hands on experience with these absolutely amazing animals! The children have loved learning all about the chicks! 🥚🐤

A huge thank you to Living Eggs Yorkshire & Manchester for providing the children with this incredible experience, and a special thank you to the chicks who have all been named by the children at both Kingfisher and Halcyon Way School:

Today we have been celebrating the Coronation of King Charles the Third all across school! We have dressed up in our party clothes, engaged in wonderful activities, made our very own crowns and created some stunning artwork! Well done everyone and have a happy Coronation weekend! 👑

Date: Every Wednesday

This week we have all been getting ready for Easter! The children in the Ospreys have been making some beautiful Easter bonnets and enjoying an Easter egg hunt all around school 🐣 and today we had a very special visit from the Easter Bunny! 🐰 Well done to everyone, a big thank you to the Easter Bunny for visiting us and well done to everyone who won on our Easter raffle which raised an amazing £579.95 for Team Triumph! ✨ 🤩 Have a very ’Hoppy Easter!’ everyone from everyone at Kingfisher Special School! 🐇
