Amazonia - School of Self Protection

Amazonia headed down south at the weekend for another great seminar. Thank you to Adam Davey, who hosted U.S. based Ryan & Amber Hoover. Two days of brilliant, clear and concise training and teaching🤓👌🏻
What was so stand out with this seminar is there were no right or wrong answers…To quote Ryan…’Everything works and everything doesn’t’ Giving your approach to self protection a whole other organic perspective.
And the ‘weaponising clothing’ was so simple yet so effective.
For me, as an instructor to mainly women, the skills and knowledge picked up at this seminar were golden 🙏🏻🌟
Thanks to Russell Sharpe for being a great training/sparring partner…his ‘hoodie trick’ is definitely one to remember!

Simon is a good friend and training colleague of mine, as well as a huge advocate and ambassador for The White Ribbon Campaign. The WRC aim is to prevent violence against women and girls by addressing the root causes of men’s violence against women: harmful attitudes, behaviours and systems, along with harmful expressions of masculinity.

This weekend, Amazonia SOSP, along with Simon and the rest of our TRDG Tribe, which comprises of some of the most dedicated, experienced and focused individuals, in the Self Protection sphere, are tackling The Fandance - Based in the The Brecon Beacons, South Wales, this route is used by the SAS & Royal Marines as part of their selection process. Not for the faint hearted, but we’re doing it anyway!

Been thinking about why not many women sign up to learn self protection…🤔

EVERYBODY thinks it’s not their problem, so NOBODY does anything about it. Then SOMEBODY gets hurt, and EVERYBODY gets upset. Truth is, ANYBODY can learn how to protect themselves!🤷🏼‍♀️

You’re not TOO old
You’re not TOO weak
You’re not TOO inexperienced

You ARE however…
TOO precious💎
TOO loved❤️
TOO needed🙏🏻
TOO important🧐….to NOT learn self protection!

Sat chatting to a woman on a plane the other day and it came up in conversation what I do for a job…well, some people call it a job…I call it my passion and mission….anyway, back on topic!
She told me she would love to learn self protection, but needs to be fit enough first before she comes to class😳🤔
That’s like saying you need to wait till you’re educated enough before you start school🤷🏼‍♀️🤓

My reply….Don’t wait till you’re strong enough, fit enough, slim enough, hard enough, able enough.
YOU ARE ENOUGH…right here, right now 👊🏻💪🏻👌🏻
