A very special visit from ZooLab 🐍🐌🪳🕷

We experienced a fantastic opportunity this morning
Our children met and learnt about a Giant African Land Snail, Cockroach, Corn Snake, Tarantula , discovering where they live, what they eat, how they grow and how to take care of our living creatures,
The session was also adapted for our babies who also had the opportunity to take part, Minibeasts has been a developing interest with our children and for them to experience meeting and being able to touch these creatures brought so much learning to their play.
A massive thank you to Oli who came and delivered this opportunity to our children

In pre school we have been motivated movers by using our fine motor skills to carefully thread our colourful pasta onto the pipe cleaners, we have also been confident communicators as we told each other our favourite colours and counted how many pieces of pasta we had. The children also compared the lengths together and used words such as shorter, longer, bigger, smaller. Once the bracelets were made we shared them with our friends

Today in Risings we have been building on our fine and gross motor skills through a variety of activities, we have been building using differnt blocks and used the pippettes to fill up our teac cups in our tea party tuff tray

The week in preschool the children have been exploring their curiosity about colour mixing! We decided to make special magic potions 🪄 The children discussed their favourite colours and experimented with them all. We used our mathematics skills to carefully measure out each potion we made, we also added in some different herbs such as thyme, mint, coriander for a sensory theme to the potion.

Recycling week
To end our recycling week activities Toddlers explored our large oudoor area, they became logical learners discussing the start of the changes in the leaves, they introduced their marvelous mathematician thinking by looking at how many leaves they needed to fill up their buckets, The children then decorated a box that they had chosen was going to be a bus with the leaves they had collected, and then took turns to go for adventures in their bus whilst singing along to wheels on the bus

National fitness day🏃🏃‍♀️

For National Fitness Day in Risings we have been practising or balancing skills, we showed how we are motivated movers and Independent Individuals, building on our confidence to balance along the planks with limited support from our adults, We became confident Communicators learning new vocabulary which was introduced such as balancing, fitness, and also Self Aware Super heroes as we supported each other and did some fabulous turn taking
