🐝 Class of 2024 🐝

Today marks the last day of the term before the summer break, and for 12 Busy Bee's it meant their last ever day of pre-school, and what a wonderful day it's been!

Thank you all of the parents/carers/grandparents & siblings who came to celebrate at our graduation today, it was lovely to see so many of you! Even through the heat, our children did fantastic, they have been practising their song for weeks and I'm glad they enjoyed singing it to you all!

We're incredibly proud of every single one of our Busy Bee's - they've all come on in leaps & bounds over the past year, they've certainly kept us on our toes, but have all been a joy to be around & have provided us with many laughs along the way! We will miss every single one of them, and wish them all the luck at big school!

For the families that have left us today, please keep in touch, we'd love to see photos of the children in their uniform!

If you have any photos of your child from today that you would like to share, please feel free to add them below!

πŸš’ This week we are focusing on the theme 'people who help us'. We've been busy having lots of group discussions about who help us, and together we've named different occupations such as police officers, fire fighters, doctors, vets & teachers as a few!

This morning we were lucky enough to have a visit from 5 firemen, who bought their fire engine to show us! We were all very excited!! We sat in the back cab, a few of us tried on a fire helmet and we all spoke about what equipment we could see & what we thought it would be used for. We then all got the opportunity to have a turn spraying the water hose, which we aimed at cones!
As they left, they even demonstrated the sirens as we all waved goodbye.

Thank you Thornbury Fire Station, what an amazing experience for our Busy Bee's today! πŸš’

What a busy day we've had! From watching a hot air balloon being inflated in the school field this morning (we were very excited to realise it was a snake!!), to running through the apple orchard this afternoon. We then headed back to Busy Bees for our suprise gathering to celebrate Lisa's last day.
We would like to thank Lisa for all she's done over the last 15+ years to make Busy Bees what it is today. She's created such fun, happy memories for all the children that have passed through the preschool, and has always been there with her caring, nurturing personality to help them through their journeys. We will all miss her lots, and we hope you join us in wishing her all the best in her future!
Thank to everyone who joined us today, helped by sending in their children's handprints & pictures for our scrapbook and all the well wishes sent. We hope you have a lovely half term, and we look forward to welcoming you back on Monday 3rd June!

πŸ€ This afternoon our Busy Bee's created their own shamrock pictures, to celebrate St Patrick's Day! They used pom poms held with pegs, dipped in different shades of green paint to make marks around a shamrock template. The children really enjoyed seeing their finished artwork revealed as the template was removed! πŸ€

πŸ’ Happy Mothers Day πŸ’
We hope you've all enjoyed your little gifts the children have been busy creating! They worked really hard to draw a picture each, before decorating a wooden frame to display their artwork. We think they look beautiful!

Yesterday we enjoyed celebrating World Book Day πŸ“–
We loved seeing the children in their costumes, and reading all of the books they bought in to share. We had dinosaurs, superheroes, princesses, a firefighter, Angelina Ballerina, Harry with his bucketful of dinosaurs, Little Miss Chatterbox & Tractor Ted to name a few!
The children were really inspired by the book 'dinosaur farm' and were soon acting out the story using our dinosuar & farm toys as props to support their play.
Our busy little bees also had fun creating their own bookmarks, using bingo dabbers to mark make.
Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun!
