We’re so proud to share the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection! 🌿

We were awarded Strong for Inclusion, recognising practice that goes above the expected standard, alongside Expected across all other areas , with Safeguarding confirmed as Met.

But for us, it’s the words in the report that matter most:

“Children are happy, settled and keen to attend this welcoming nursery.”

“They form warm and trusting relationships with staff, who know them well.”

“Children experience an inclusive and welcoming environment where staff work hard to remove barriers to learning and ensure that everyone can participate and achieve.”

Every child deserves to feel safe, valued, understood and supported, and we’re incredibly proud to see the relationships, inclusive practice and care at the heart of our nursery recognised by Ofsted.

A huge thank you to our wonderful team for the care and dedication they bring each day, and to our families for the trust and support you continue to give us.

We’re so proud of you all 🌟

The first few weeks of nursery can look different for every child.

Some head straight through the door ready to explore. Others need a little more reassurance. And even children who seemed completely settled at first can have days when saying goodbye suddenly feels harder.

That's all part of getting used to something new.

During these early weeks, familiar routines, consistent faces and plenty of communication between home and nursery all help children gradually find their feet.

And remember: settling isn't always a straight line. One difficult morning doesn't undo all the progress that came before it.

💡 Parent tip: Let your child's key person know about anything that might have affected their morning; a restless night, a change in routine, anything at all. Those small details help us understand what they might need from us that day.

🍋 Lemon Tray! 🍋

The children in the Atelier have been enjoying lots of conversations about different summer fruits this week.

To build on their interest, they created a bright lemon-shaped tuff tray for a fun fine motor activity.

The children took turns using tweezers to pick up green pom-poms and carefully transfer them into the different sections of the tray.
This encouraged them to practise their hand-eye coordination, concentration and fine motor control, while also developing their turn-taking skills.

We also talked about how different fruits taste. The children shared their ideas about lemons and limes being sour, while apples were described as “yummy” and “juicy”!

🏡Try at home:
Why not explore some different fruits together? Talk about their colours, textures, smells and tastes.
Can your child describe which fruit they like best and why?

iStep into School 🌟

School readiness looks different for every child. Some children will feel excited, others may need a little more reassurance, and both are completely normal. Every child develops at their own pace.

A few gentle ways to support the transition include:
• Remembering that every child settles differently.
• Practising short separations where appropriate.
• Keeping goodbyes positive and reassuring.
• Talking positively about starting school.
• Celebrating the things your child can already do.

Starting school is a big milestone for the whole family, and it's perfectly normal for parents to feel emotional too.

Because school readiness isn't about reaching a finish line, it's about taking the next step with confidence.

iStep into School
Little Routines, Big Confidence 🌟

Simple routines at home can make all the difference:
👕 Laying out clothes the night before.
🕒 Using a visual timetable for morning routines.
🙌 Encouraging children to do things independently where possible.
🧥 Practising putting on coats and shoes.
☀️ Allowing plenty of time for calm, unhurried mornings.

Children thrive when they know what to expect. Predictable routines help build confidence and create a positive start to each day.

From our Nook 🌿

The children in the Nook have been busy exploring mark making using whiteboards and colourful markers.

They enjoyed making lines, shapes and their own wonderful drawings, watching as their ideas appeared on the board.

This is a lovely way to encourage early writing skills while developing pencil control, creativity and confidence in making their own marks.

🏡Try at home:
Set up a simple mark-making station with paper, chunky crayons or washable pens and encourage your little one to draw lines, circles, patterns or anything they choose.

From our Nook 🍉

The Nook children have been keeping cool with some refreshing watermelon and ice play!

They enjoyed exploring the different textures, temperatures and sensations as they played, scooped and discovered what happened as the ice began to melt.

It was a lovely sensory experience that encouraged the children to use their senses, develop their language and enjoy some fun summer play together.

🏡Try at home:
On a warm day, add some ice cubes to a tray with water and a few slices of fruit for your little one to explore. Talk about how the ice feels, what happens when it melts and which fruits they can see and smell.
