Made-Well CIC Made-Well is a not-for-profit community interest company providing a safe and welcoming place for all! We are open to the public. There is no entrance fee.

Based just outside of Hatherleigh, nr Okehampton, we offer enabling opportunities for adults and young people as well as public events and activities! Made-Well is a not-for-profit community interest company established in August 2007 which provides positive and purposeful opportunities. We reach out to all people, especially those with learning disabilities, physical disabilities mental illness a

nd loneliness. Our site is family & dog friendly and wheelchair accessible. We have an inclusive playground, Changing Places toilet, animals and gardens. The services that Made-Well offers include:

- Support and enabling for young people and adults with a learning & / or physical disability or mental health condition, in a group or on a 1-1 basis. A range of sessions including farm and sheep work, animal care, café, woodwork, horticulture, life skills, cooking, arts and crafts, music, maintenance, day trips, community events and activities, sports and exercise, market days, supported employment opportunities and supported holidays. We offer a free taster day. To arrange a visit, please email [email protected]

- Pony therapy sessions, 1:1 or small group. Please contact [email protected] to book.

- Animal Club every Saturday, for all ages and abilities. Fun for the whole family or come on your own and meet others who enjoy spending time with animals. Please see our website for further information and to book (or pay in our cafe).

- Need a venue? We have facilities to hire including our sensory room and the Pebble (with kitchen facilities). We cater for birthday parties. Please see our website for further information.

- Party and Therapy Ponies: we come to you! Our Shetland ponies can come to your special occasion. Please contact [email protected] for a quote.

The Sensory Room at Made-Well is available for shared use sessions for just £5, or you can sole hire for £30, offering an affordable way to enjoy our facilities - which include an adult-size ball pit, fibre-optic lighting, a gantry hoist (own sling required), bubble tubes, Bluetooth speakers and mood lighting 🔮✨

Made-Well is a perfect day out for families looking for affordable and accessible holiday fun! With garden games, a playground (including wheelchair accessible equipment!), garden and animal barn all open DAILY from 9-4 for not a single penny charge, we are proud to offer one of Mid-Devon’s best free days out. 🎉🌷

If you have a little extra lining your pockets, we also have a Sensory room with sessions available from £5pp, a cafe and the opportunity to get involved with Animal Walks, Experiences and our ever-popular Animal Club (Tuesdays and Saturdays, see online for details!). 🐴🐑 ANIMALS AT MADE-WELL 🐰🐢

Looking for something fun to do with the animals this summer? Whether you fancy a goat walk, pony therapy, a 1:1 animal experience or just some hands-on time with our animals, there’s something for everyone at Made-Well! 💕Our weekly Animal Club is running on Saturdays throughout the summer, with an extra Tuesday session too! 🐐🐴

Our sessions are accessible and inclusive, with activities suitable for people of all ages and abilities. The Animal Barn is wheelchair accessible too, and gives us a great indoor space when the British weather doesn’t cooperate! 🌦️

Are you looking for an affordable venue for a meeting, party or group session? Why not hire one of our Made-Well facilities 💻🌞

We have three options available:
- The Pebble, which has kitchen facilities
- The Dennis Bater Bubble
- The Cafe (available only at certain times)
Each is priced at affordable and competitive rates, and are available to hire all through the year.

If it's a party you're throwing, as well as a fully customisable venue, we also offer the option to include pre-ordered food from our café menu and magical time with our ponies or small animals as part of your package! 🦄🎉

It's been another lovely week at Made-Well! 💚

Despite the rain, we’ve made the most of our beautiful site and enjoyed plenty of activities, fresh air and time together. This week, we’ve been getting creative in the kitchen by making tortellini, while Natalie has been busy working on a brilliant Save the Bees project 🐝 Several of the people we support also helped with harvesting at our Hele Well Garden, and we even managed to fit in some lovely pony walks in between the showers! 🐴🌿
As always, there’s been plenty more going on too, with opportunities to learn new skills, build confidence, enjoy friendships and have fun together.

At Made-Well, we’re proud to support adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health challenges and those experiencing loneliness, creating meaningful opportunities in a welcoming and supportive community. 💚

If your young person is struggling with the school environment, finding it hard to engage with learning, or needs a different approach for the coming school year, Made-Well’s Alternative Provision could help.
We offer a therapeutic, non-school learning environment for children and young people aged 8-25 with EHCPs, with support tailored around their needs.

This can include:
• Group or 1:1 support
• Flexible hours
• Outdoor activities
• Accessible, engaging experiences

We’re now open for registrations for the coming school year.

🍂 Looking for a school trip this autumn term?

Bring your class to Made-Well at West Fishleigh Farm for a hands-on day of animal care, gardening and outdoor learning. Children can get involved with caring for our animals, exploring the garden, learning about growing and discovering where food comes from. These practical activities can link into the curriculum, including science, nature, food and the environment. Our activities are designed to be accessible and inclusive, giving children of all abilities the chance to get involved, learn new skills and enjoy being outdoors.
