🥰The Ogs Welcome Owain George🥰
Owain was invited down to the Hardee's Bay beach to an Extraordinary Meeting of The Ogs last night. There were 14 Ogs gathered round a camp fire but also there were 3 others: two girls and an adult all of whom Owain recognised as regular customers at Weigh To Go Refill.
"Hello Owain George " they chorused! "We are the children of the Craft room! And this is our Mum. The Ogs refer to us as The Funny Folk. For some reason these funny little characters think that we are funny!" The children giggled at this.
It was Grannie Annie who chirped in next "Well you are funny!. You do the strangest of things. We have been studying you for years and you baffle us everyday"
It was Mammoth who interrupted Grannie Annie before she went off on one of her rants about the Funny Folk. "That's enough Grannie Annie. We haven't invited Owain George down here to frighten him off. We invited you in to the settlement to thank you for the wonderful work you are doing".
"Yes! we are so grateful to you Owain" said the elder of the children. "Until we met the Ogs we were so frightened, confused and frustrated at what was happening to the environment and we didn't know what to do! But the Ogs have shown us we are custodians and ambassadors and we have everything we need to make our future as bright as we wish".
"let's start at the beginning girls" said mum. "Tell Owain the story. You know it off by heart".
The children looked at each other, looked at their mum and then at the Ogs and smiled their brightest smile. They then looked to Owain and said:
"Ever wondered why moths find your woolly jumpers delicious?
Or why blankets that looks soft are so itchy it’s hideous!
Or if one sock goes missing it returns covered in fluff!
Welcome to the World of Ogs! They know all about this stuff!"
The children then began to gather some props from the settlement and started to act out the following story whilst Owain just sat and realised with great joy that he was not alone in his quest to save the world. He was part of a community of likeminded Ogs who were working alongside him all the way on this wonderful journey he had started.
“Yippee!! It’s The first day of the summer break!”
Say the children before realizing their mistake.
They had put on their shorts with their swimsuits underneath.
They had rushed to the bathroom and cleaned all their teeth.
But looking out of the window at the horrible weather
Headed to the craft room to plan something together.
Chatting excitedly they opened the door,
But were shocked by the mess all over the floor.
There were bags of plastic, tin, clothes and glass.
The piles were so high the children struggled to get past.
Mum called from the kitchen “Children can you sort the waste out?”
“What? This is all waste?” the children shout.
As the rain hit the window, the children looked sad
“Awful waste and bad weather, the world has gone mad”.
Not sure what to do and troubled by the sight.
The youngest of the children spoke to a jumper she held tight.
“I wish you could explain what this is all about!”
Then dropping it to the floor it changed, something was trying to get out!
The sleeve of the jumper had taken a new shape.
Mum entered the craftroom, picked it up and began to create.
She cut, stitched and stretched, her hands working so fast.
And when showing ‘the thing’’ to the children their faces were aghast!
In high pitched voices “What is it? They shout.
“I am Mammoth! Hurry up, there are others waiting to get out!”
Mum and the children in shock began working.
They each took a jumper and released a “something!”
The children looked to Mum and The Ogs and said
"Shall we save the introductions for tomorrow? I think Owain George needs to join us in a celebratory supper. Mum has made some of those amazing Cocoa nibs Cookies and the water has nearly boiled to make the Nettle and Rose tea that we buy from your Weigh To Go Refill shop".
They all sat together and chatted about how bright the future looked🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
