Finally we can share what has taken months of hard work, but has been in our thoughts for years…..it’s finally a reality!

We would like to welcome you to ‘The Nest’.

Situated a few minutes from Okewood Nursery we are available to care exclusively for 1-2 year olds (currently, although we hope to accept younger in due course).

Nestled behind the beautiful St John the Baptist’s church, in The Ark building, we have the perfect setting! Including a forest play area that we will be improving as soon as we can! Our older Okewood children will be able to access this area and stop for a play in hall too!

We aim to integrate both settings so that transitions up are calm and flawless, and staff and children can still see each other once they have transitioned.

We finally have the all clear from OFSTED and are thrilled to open our doors to children on our register this Monday!!! We have a wonderful new team that I will introduce on here soon, but we are still looking for our last member of staff so please share with anyone you may know with a Level 3 in childcare!

We have lots of people to thank in helping this come to fruition…..
Firstly, our children for having to put up with us attending meetings, painting, sorting, fixing etc over the summer break. They are such little soldiers!!!

Secondly, The PCC, it simply would have not been possible without their enthusiasm, flexibility, support and trust! They have allowed us to change the rooms and have given us permission to fulfill our visions…..thank you!!!!!

Thirdly our amazing Okewood team!!! They have put up with us going here and there, being a tad frazzled and extra stresses that all this change has added! It goes to show how amazing they all are and we (and of course the children!!!) are just so incredibly lucky to have them all supporting us!! I’m so pleased we can share it all with them and also share such a beautiful space on our weekly wood walks!! There may even be a cheeky hot choccy in it for them all on the colder days😉
Thank you ladies for being just so wonderful!!!

And lastly, all of our Okewood parents of our tinies that have been a bit in limbo whilst we waited…….and waited……and waited for the go ahead from OFSTED!! We are finally there, thank you for your patience!!

Sorry for any inconvenience with drop offs/picks ups today!! After a few rained off days they finally got our garden soft-created! It looks so much better and now has a slope instead of a step, and will save little knees from little bumps!!!

Well little big ones….. your school journeys start now! Some of you are off next week, some of you this week!!
We cannot wait to hear how you all got on and see pics of you in your new uniforms!! We know you will all be excellent and take it in your stride! Go get ‘em!!!!!

We didn’t get placed anywhere at the Flower show BUT we did produce such a beautiful piece of artwork as a team!!! Everyone had a go either on the sea or the sand using brushes, sponges, forks, tooth brushes, glue, paint, sand, glitter and of course shells!!!
It may seem like a humble picture but this incredible artwork took fine motor skills, team work, patience, lots of personal, social and emotional skills and maths!! Yes, maths! How much glue do we need….how much space do we need to cover….what shape is our canvas…….will our shells fall off if they are heavy……do we choose big or small ones……how many???? So much maths!!!
And now we have a beautiful piece of artwork to put up on our nursery wall! I’m very proud of our little artists and I hope they all got to see their hard work on show!

Location: Okewood Nursery

Ages: 1 - 10 years (Children under 3 must already be enrolled at the nursery)

Prices:

9:00 AM - 3:30 PM – £35

8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (Extended Day) – £45

Children under 2 are charged at the usual hourly rate.
