Well today is a sad and happy day all rolled into one.
I have just got a new job ๐Ÿฅฐ which means I will be closing Emma Telfers Childminding service. ๐Ÿ˜ช

I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all my parents and children that have been on my childminding journey.
I have genuinely loved the last 3 years and all the children I have looked after will forever have a place in my heart. โค

I'm lucky to be back where I started before I started childminding and a new challenge begins. I'm getting to do what I love still but have more family time now ๐Ÿฅฐ

Today we managed to get back to one of our playgroups. Most of the children I look after at the moment are going to nursery after the summer so I'm trying to get the children around other children as much as possible. We have really enjoyed making new friends and also seeing some friends we haven't been able to in a long time. We have enjoyed meeting up with other childminders and their children too ๐Ÿ˜
The last year has meant outdoor activities as much as possible which has been fantastic ๐Ÿ˜

On a day like today all you really want to do is snuggle up with a hot chocolate and watch tv..but "work" calls.... Then you see the kids loving life with no cares in the world... Splashing in every puddle and giggling the whole way...... I'd get soaked through every day just to see how happy these children are โค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ (and that says a lot...i hate the rain ๐Ÿคฃโ˜”)

We have had a great summer considering the strange world we are living in just now.
My priority is to keep things as 'normal' as possible for the kids and use the outdoors as much as possible as guidlines tell us.

No bad bug will keep us down! ๐Ÿ‘Š Extra cleaning for me, lots of hand washing, drop off and pickups at the front door and lots of outdoor play ensuring we pick places and times that will be quieter! The best first week back ever! Thoroughly enjoyed every minute ๐Ÿฅฐ all the children were amazing after having weeks of mummy and daddy time. Gold stars for everyone! ๐ŸŒŸ

Dear parents

This Thursday marks ten full weeks since our schools closed and Sunday since our country went into lockdown.

You have had your children home for more time now than you would if they were on summer holidays. People will say โ€˜but they are your responsibilityโ€™ and while that is true no-one could be expected to have imagined this period before they chose to conceive.

You have protected, nourished, educated, supported and entertained your children during a period of national and international uncertainty and fear. You have experienced emotions for yourself and your family that you never knew existed, never mind experienced before.

This is a long time.

Think about how you feel at the end of the summer holidays, how ready you are for routine, how badly your house needs cleaning, how much work you are ready to catch up on. Remember that exhausting feeling of having so little sleep, much less money and hearing โ€˜mum/dadโ€™ every time you happen to sit down.

And you wonder why you are exhausted after all this time in lockdown?

You are amazing! You have achieved something no other parent ever has! You have faced this time unable to take your child or children anywhere, no parks, holidays to break up the boredom, no day trips, no family to help. On top of that you have juggled work demands, loneliness on a level never experienced before, information overload from the internet and emotional turmoil of not being able to see people you hold dear. Even getting food to eat has been a major drama!

So itโ€™s ok to feel drained. Itโ€™s ok to feel like you would sell your soul right now for five minutes alone. Itโ€™s ok to feel uninspired about another day of homeschooling, another day of never ending laundry and cooking.

Itโ€™s ok to be so very tired.

It is a long time.

But you have made it.

Be proud of yourself. Stand tall.

History will show you for your courage, your children will remember this period as a time knowing they were safe and loved and teachers everywhere are deeply grateful that you are there for your children when they should be but canโ€™t be.

In short: you are awesome!

When it's March already and I haven't posted anything ๐Ÿ™ˆ I can't begin to describe the joy I have watching the children I look after grow. This year has had lots of changes already. One of my original children who started this time last year has left to get ready for nursery and has left a huge hole in our Childminding lives. He is still mentioned regularly โค๏ธ but on a positive we have gained 3 new children this year who I can't give enough love and praise for...they have fitted in perfectly and feel like they have always been here. The 2 year old stage brings a lot of hightened emotions and frustrations (for the kids ๐Ÿ˜‚) and they absolutely knacker me out but I think I have the best job in the world! Every day I am doubled over with laughter! Definitely the best stage of all! Here is just some of the fun things we get up too....๐Ÿ˜ From attending local community playgroups, outdoor activities, and activities at home to suit children's learning and development...no 2 days are ever the same โค๏ธ
