In Taberna Quando Sumus (with lyrics) 25/11/2025

A medieval student drinking song/poem from the Carmina Burana for the intermediate students this week.

The Carmina Burana, a 13th-century manuscript from Bavaria, contains a fantastic collection of medieval poems and satirical texts, a great example of the more 'rough' medieval Latin as opposed to Classical Latin. And great teaching material!

In Taberna Quando Sumus (with lyrics) We're learning part of Carmina Burana in choir, this is designed to help everyone learn the words.*this is intended only for personal use

Who says learning Latin is boring? This week's reading for our advanced students are fragments from Tolkien's The Hobbit.

We thoroughly recommend Mark Walker's Latin translation to all Latin readers out there!

Hang in there everyone! Only 5 more weeks until the Holidays...

Fancy learning Latin? Bookings for Spring Term 2026 are open: Weekday slots between 10am and 8pm - Email us to inquire and arrange a free intro session.
