A huge well done to our amazing Harington Sports Leaders who did a fantastic job officiating at the Varsity Athletics competition at Corby Athletics Club.
They took on a wide range of officiating roles throughout the afternoon and represented the school brilliantly. They carried out their duties with confidence, helping the whole event run smoothly from start to finish. We are incredibly proud of their effort and the positive impact they had on such a successful sporting afternoon.

Our Year 12 Biology students enjoyed an inspiring trip to the Botanical Gardens in Cambridge.
Despite the weather, students had a fantastic time exploring a wide variety of plant species and discovering the adaptations that help them survive in different environmental conditions. It was a great opportunity to bring classroom learning to life while exploring the incredible complexity of the gardens they have been studying in lessons.

This week the DofE are celebrating Volunteers’ Week.

Social value certificates recognise the fantastic work that our students do for their communities. The certificate also shows a monetary value to students’ efforts towards the Volunteering section of their DofE. The statistics revealed that our students clocked up a huge 3640 hours of volunteering as part of their DofE this year, with an estimated total value of £27481.

We know volunteering changes lives, that is why it is such a vital part of our DofE programme. It’s more than our students just giving their time; it’s about discovering passions, building confidence, and gaining skills that last a lifetime.

“On Monday 18 May, our Year 12 geographers had the fantastic opportunity to visit and.

At The Allerton Project, we explored how different farming practices impact soil carbon stores and the ecosystems that depend on them. We then visited Ketton Cement to investigate the role of cement production in the local carbon store and its wider links to the carbon and water cycles.

One of the highlights of the trip was getting a behind-the-scenes look inside a rotary kiln through live cameras, as well as hearing directly from employees about how their work influences key geographical processes.

It was a fascinating day that brought our classroom learning to life and gave us a real-world understanding of sustainability and industrial geography.”

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our Wear It Blue Non-Uniform Day in support of Charlie's Promise.
We are delighted to share that together we raised an incredible £420!
Charlie’s Promise works to raise awareness of knife crime and educate young people about the devastating impact of youth violence, helping to create safer communities and brighter futures.
Thank you to all students, staff, and families who wore blue and donated so generously. Your support will make a real difference.

A huge congratulations to our students following a fantastic Awards Evening.

We are incredibly proud of both teams for their hard work, creativity and professionalism throughout the Company Programme.

Bubble-Up achieved an amazing 2nd place overall in the Leicestershire and South Lincolnshire Company Programme. A brilliant achievement against strong competition.

Cover-Up were also recognised on the night, winning the award for Best Presentation for their outstanding pitch and communication skills.

Both teams have represented the school brilliantly and should be extremely proud of everything they have accomplished. Well done to all students involved, and thank you to the staff and supporters who helped make the experience such a success.

Two members of our school community are taking on an incredible challenge at the 2027 Manchester Marathon and they’re running for causes that matter deeply to them.

Eve will be running to raise awareness and funds for Endometriosis UK, supporting those affected by endometriosis and helping to improve understanding of this condition. https://www.justgiving.com/page/eve-bradley-1?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL

Trent is taking on the marathon in aid of the British Heart Foundation, helping to fund lifesaving research into heart and circulatory diseases. https://www.justgiving.com/page/trent-baker-1?utm_medium=FA&utm_source=CL

A big thank you to Charlie for visiting Harington to talk about , an incredible mental health app that offers safe, anonymous support for young people.
Charlie explained that Tellmi is a safe, anonymous app where young people can talk about anything that may be on their minds. Users can access support from trained professionals as well as from their peers, and they are also encouraged to support others.
He reassured students that, once they have registered, only users of a similar age are able to comment on their posts. In addition, every post is carefully reviewed by trained moderators to ensure the platform remains safe and supportive.
Charlie’s visit was especially well timed, with Year 12 students due to sit their mock examinations in a few weeks. At what can be a particularly stressful period, being reminded of the support available to them was both relevant and valuable.

Over the Easter break, 54 of our Gold DofE students took on their practice expedition in the Lake District. Blessed with clear skies, they trekked across the peaks and experienced true wild camping. Our providers, Sam Sykes, were full of praise, describing the group as exceptionally polite and one of the most capable practice cohorts they have ever supported.

To help ease the pressures of A level exams, our Year 13 students enjoyed a relaxing Afternoon Tea, the perfect way to spend their final Thursday afternoon together while signing yearbooks and making lasting memories. We wish them the very best of luck in their upcoming exams. A huge thank you to our wonderful Catering Team for the fantastic spread of cakes, scones, blondies and refreshments.
