Back in April Year 3 took part in a skateboarding class. They learned how to safely mount and dismount the board, move off with one foot and turn the board using their toes or heels. They even learned some tricks such as a banana flip and a pancake flip.

Last week, the Y6 class celebrated the end of SATs with their residential to Rock UK near Wellingborough.
The children were challenged with: climbing, archery, Leap of Faith, zip lining, fencing, canoeing, walking the plank, the traverse wall, night walk and orienteering. All the children were amazing showing teamwork and support for their peers, encouraging each other as well as showing wonderful senses of humour.
Mrs Stanfield says that many memories were made and some events will stay with her including; some of the muddiest children coming out of the bog at walk the plank, the hilarious communication between them during the Night Walk and some questionable methods to get round and the laughter from those children who returned from canoeing in torrential rain, soaked to the skin yet embracing every moment.
She was so proud of all of them for taking everything in their stride, trusting each other and, for many, facing challenges head on and feeling the success of achievements they clearly never thought could happen.
Well done to our amazing Year 6!

๐ฐ Year 5 Visit to Burghley House ๐
Last Thursday, our Year 5 children enjoyed a fantastic trip to Burghley House as part of their Tudor history learning.
Throughout the day, the children discovered all about Henry VII and his reign, bringing their classroom learning to life. They took part in a fascinating guided tour around the house, exploring its incredible history and architecture.
The children also met Dr Mort, who taught them all about Tudor illnesses and medicineโsome of the remedies certainly surprised us! To finish the day, they learned about Tudor feasts and discovered what life was like at the dining table in Tudor times.
It was a brilliant day full of learning, exploration and hands-on experiences. We were so proud of how engaged, curious and enthusiastic Year 5 were throughout the visit.
Well done, Year 5! ๐โจ
Thank you so much all Burghley House

Year 3- Ancient Egyptian Day
Year 3 stepped back in time to take part in a variety of different activities that resembled that of the Ancient Egyptians. They became authentic scribes, carefully painting their names in hieroglyphics on papyrus. ๐ Their creativity and attention to detail were incredible to see!
They also made their own flatbreads ๐ before enjoying an afternoon filled with traditional Egyptian games.
It was a wonderful way to end their History topic. ๐คฉ The children had a fantastic day full of crafting, learning, baking and tasting.

To compliment Year 1โs learning of The Great Fire of London, Kim delivered a brilliant forest school session to demonstrate how the fire started ๐ฅ
The children then explored how fires begin by safely creating sparks with a fire steel and adding tinder and kindling.
To finish, they worked together to put out a fire by passing water along a line and throwing it onto the flamesโjust as people would have done during the Great Fire!
