Oakham School

6IB have completed their annual pilgrimage to the wild and wonderful Pembrokeshire coast 🌊🌿- a tradition that stretches back long before the IB. Wales was our longstanding destination for A‑level fieldwork too, and since introducing the IB in 2001, the trip has remained a core part of the student experience.

Our Biology and ESS students gathered data in fields, rocky shores and the salt marsh, developing new measurement and sampling techniques along the way. It’s always inspiring to see them learning beyond the classroom and applying their skills in such a stunning environment.

And yes… we even got lucky with the weather ☀️😄

Not even the rain could stop our amazing Lower School walkers and cyclists as they took on Rutland Water in support of Old Oakhamian Lewis Moody (’96) and the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation 💙💛

A huge congratulations to everyone who took part - a fantastic display of determination and true community spirit 👏

What a joy it was to welcome back our Old Oakhamians from the Class of ’66, along with former teachers and Honorary OOs. An afternoon filled with stories, laughter, and memories as they reconnected over lunch, explored archive photos and red books, and enjoyed a tour of the campus 🖤💛

A special highlight was a heartfelt speech from former Head Boy, David Jackson, complete with rousing toast to Oakham School.

Oakham School is seeking to appoint a Housekeeper to work in our Domestic Operations department over the summer holidays, assisting the ATL/DTL to ensure the high standards of housekeeping are implemented and maintained, in the areas designated for the role and hours in designated area of the school. Oakham School is seeking to appoint a HR Coordinator to provide high-quality HR support across the employee lifecycle, with a particular focus on recruitment, onboarding, and administration for allocated departments across the School.

Reporting to and supporting the HR Advisor, this role will contribute to the delivery of a proactive and efficient HR service and will be the first point of contact for staff and managers in assigned areas.

The ideal candidate will be an organised and proactive HR professional with strong administrative capability and a keen interest in developing their HR career. They will bring experience in recruitment and HR coordination, a commitment to high standards of service delivery, and the ability to build positive relationships across the School.

Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Salary: £28,000 per annum
