What a truly amazing ‘Purple Up Day for The Military Child Day’ we had to celebrate the month of the military child.
As a school, we are always so proud of our amazing children and how they cope with the unique challenges they face as children within military families. Their resilience and ability to face months without loved ones due to deployments and regular relocations with new schools, friends and homes is awe inspiring in such young children. As teachers, we are inspired everyday by their adaptability and their strength, so it was an honour to celebrate them.
A huge thank you to Teddy and Larella’s family, Major and Mrs Kelly for organising and all the wonderful daddies who gave up their R&R to provide us with such an amazing day.
And finally to our wonderful children, thank you for inspiring and teaching us every day with your resilience.

To mark 2026, the UK Safer Internet Centre – in collaboration with
Nominet – has released new research exploring young people’s attitudes to AI and how
it’s influencing their online lives.
The findings offer valuable insight into how children and young people understand AI,
what excites them, what worries them, and what support they feel they need.

We’re supporting with Place2Be!
A sense of belonging can play a vital role in children’s mental health and wellbeing, in their friendships, at school, at home and in the wider community.
What can belonging feel like?
• Feeling welcome, valued, and accepted
• A safe place with family and friends
• Feeling included
• A sense of connection
• Being part of a group or community
These moments of belonging can help children feel secure and supported as they grow.

Last Friday, some of our Year 6 team represented the school in the Rutland Learning Trust tag-rugby event hosted at Oakham School. Not only did the children demonstrate excellent rugby skills, but they exemplified great teamwork, respect and enthusiasm through some challenging weather conditions. Thank you to the parents that joined us to cheer the team on!
