Today we enjoyed our snack outside. We then enjoyed building more (pretend) camp fires. We found some holes in the ground and talked about what could have made them. The children spotted blackberries.
Then it was time for some games! Our favourite “duck, duck, goose” and a new game “bat and moths.” Before starting the new game we had to learn about how bats hear through echolocation.

It’s been another hot week at Pre School. Yesterday Nutley CE Primary School kindly let us use their shady school field!!
We had so much fun building a pretend camp fire, writing our names with sticks, working as a team to stack tyres and collecting pine cones for our mud kitchen!

Today has been all about sensory activities. The children arrived to cloud dough, which was great fun.
We used bicarbonate of soda and food colouring to make dinosaurs. We will freeze them for an activity later in the week.
The children helped make play dough which they enjoyed playing with this afternoon.

With the cooler weather this week we have been getting out and about in our community.
We visited the park, where there was lots of taking turns, team work and learning new skills.
We walked down School Lane, spotting flowers and seeds. We also saw a horse, donkey and some bales!!!
Yesterday we went on a forest adventure! Balancing across bridges, squeezing under trees and braving a rope swing before enjoying a rest and a story!

This week we have continued our learning around the book “When a dragon goes to school”

When the children arrived on Monday and Tuesday they discovered frozen dragon eggs! Using pipettes, warm water and team work the children helped the dragons to hatch!

It was amazing to see so many of you at the Nutley Village Fete yesterday. We loved chatting with you all and were delighted that so many of you were just as excited as we are about our plans to transform the Easton room so we can start opening from 8am till 4pm!

Thank you to everyone who bought a raffle ticket or ice lolly, or had a go on the hook a duck or lucky dip - every penny helps in our goal to transform the Easton room into the bright, beautiful space we want for our little deers!

Two of our activities from this week:

At the start of the week, before the temperature got too high, we created a car wash in the garden. Lots of bubbles and fun cleaning off the cars and bikes.

We have also been “chasing” counters around the paper to create patterns while practicing our fine motor skills, especially our pen grip.
