Customer Notice

It’s with a heavy heart that we are telling you that, after eight years of running Funtastic, we will be closing this Sunday evening.

What once used to be a thriving business has now become a struggle. With many play centres closing recently, we have seen this coming for a while, but we kept going putting in our own money in the hope of seeing light at the end of the tunnel again.

There are many factors that have led to our final decision: utility bills increasing significantly, stock costs rising, and most recently the end of business rates relief, which had been in place since Covid. This increase, more than doubling our rates, really tipped the scale in our decision. On top of this, we know that many of you, the public, are struggling with day-to-day bills.

We used to have regular visitors attending every single week. But, after speaking to many of you, we know visits have had to be cut down to fortnightly or even monthly because it simply isn’t affordable anymore. The weather has also been a big factor recently. We have saved where we could by closing early sometimes with no visitors at all. Although we didn’t want to close early, staying open was leading to even greater losses, so we had to make that difficult decision daily just to try and keep the business afloat.

It is heartbreaking to see Funtastic close. We have made so many great memories and met so many lovely people over the years it has truly been a pleasure to be open to you, the public.

Once again, thank you to everyone who has visited over the years. It has been an absolute pleasure.
