🌟 A HUGE thank you to Krazy Kroc's for gifting our amazing young carers a fun-filled, free session.🐊💚
The children absolutely loved having an afternoon out, enjoying a well-deserved break and some fun, laughter, and play.
Your generosity brought so many smiles and gave these incredible young people a chance to just be kids and make some unforgettable memories. We’re so grateful for your support and kindness. It truly means the world. 🙌✨
Today, several of our pupils celebrated their First Holy Communion at St Anne’s Church.
After spending the last 3 months attending church every Sunday learning and preparing; today, they progressed within the church by taking their First Holy Communion.
Our pupils were joined by pupils from St Paul's C of E Primary School Nuneaton, Queen’s C of E Academy and Camphill Primary School.
It was an absolute honour to work across our community with such a great group of young people over the last 3 months.

As a result of community feedback, Michael Drayton Junior School will trial opening the drop off zone at 3pm. This trial will begin today and continue until 11th April.
We expect parents to play their part by entering the zone at the relevant time directed by the school and not before thus easing congestion on the roads and in our drop off zone.
-> Y3/Y5 and siblings finish time: 3.20pm
-> Y4/Y6 finish time: 3.30pm
We will welcome feedback following our trial to see if the earlier opening has a positive impact.
Despite some misconceptions noted- we wish to highlight that our drop off zone has increased capacity of our parents’ cars being off the main road/surrounding roads by at least 50% following its opening in September 2018- with an attempt to ease the flow of traffic within the village. Prior to this approximately 12 cars could safely enter the turning circle which resulted in more parents parking elsewhere.
As a school, we also stagger our finish time, recognising the impact 3 schools finishing at the same time can have on the village.
As always we are keen to work with our community and welcome any feedback directly to our school rather than social media posts so when can address concerns efficiently and effectively.

🌟 A huge thank you to Mrs Collins and everyone at Michael Drayton School in Nuneaton for having us this morning! It was fantastic to raise awareness and meet some incredible young carers 🙏
We’re also thrilled to share that almost £500 was raised on Young Carers Action Day earlier this month – such an amazing effort! Thank you! 💛
We’re excited about the opportunity to continue working together in the future to support the incredible young carers in your school. ❤️
That’s all folks….
Our pupils and staff arrived back at 8.31pm this evening and are all now reunited with their families.
I cannot put into words how the last 36hours have played out but the sense of relief is overwhelming.
Rayburn Tours, thank you! Particularly Sylvia and Tom- thank you for working tirelessly with me throughout Friday to coordinate ‘plan z!’ I could not have returned our party back so swiftly without you!!!
Hartshill School, huge thank you to Miss Taylor for reaching out today and offering support. The use of their staff carpark allowed the chaos of 100+ people being collected to run smoothly and less congested. Ede, thank you for coming out in the rain to open up!
Staff who joined me this evening to support the unloading of coaches, thank you for giving up your evening to spend an hour in the rain with me!
Members of the community- thank you for your interest, your cheering from the sidelines, your kind words! From the BBC to ITV, Transatlantic Radio Broadcasting Channels and more local radio stations… it’s been a journey and a half, thanks for being invested and coming along for the ride!
Parents, your patience, kind words and support has kept me going in one of the most difficult periods I’ve experienced over the last 12years as headteacher at Michael Drayton.
Our pupils… Parents, your children have been amazing! A real credit to themselves, you and our school… their resilience, high spirits and laughter have helped to keep our staff going.
Last but not least, ‘The Barca 11,’ my wonderful staff and governors who volunteered their time to make this trip happen- I’m proud to have you on my team! The exhaustion you must all be feeling was pushed to one side to ensure our 100 pupils were prioritised- words are not enough, but I thank you all the same!
That’s my Oscar like speech over…🎤 drop!
Good night & God bless!
