At little Achievers, Pre school are having an absolute blast during our summer holidays. It has been such a lovely opportunity to focus on our pre schoolers interests and enjoy a whole range of fun packed and hands on activities. For some of our children, it is their last summer holidays with us so wanted to make it extra special! 🙌❤️

We have been learning all about spiders, discovering some brilliant facts, sharing our fears and getting creative with some fantastic spider crafts! Our little learners have used their fine motor skills as they cut, stuck and created amazing pictures to take home. We even ventured outside to see if we could find some real creepy crawlies when we went outdoors in our garden. 👀🕷️

We have enjoyed glitter tattoos, masking dens with our galaxy projector and looking at the stars. We have also loved our new Book Nook in the garden 📖🐛

Bubbles are also one of our current interests, so we just had to have some bubble fun! We made gigantic bubbles using hula hoops and had the best time watching them grow before popping them all and being able to even go through them 😆🫧🫧

After enjoying being superheroes in the garden, we continued the fun by making our very own superhero masks! The children used their fine motor skills to decorate, cut and stick, creating some super designs. ✂️🎨

We are having a wonderful time during our half term holiday and have really liked exploring as well as well as learning all whilst following the children’s interests. 💛✨

Today is the event of the biggest solar eclipse since 1999! 🌙☀️
To celebrate this, the children of Little Achievers Day Nursery have learnt all about solar eclipse's. The preschool room watched an educational video explaining exactly what happens during an eclipse. The children discovered that the moon moves in front of the sun! They were all so amazed by this discovery and wanted to know how they could watch this amazing event. The staff in the preschool room supported the children in making their very own solar eclipse viewer. They listened to their grownups and constructed them with paper and tin foil. The children then took them home to watch the solar eclipse safely. 🌚

In the baby barn, the babies enjoyed getting messy and creating their own portraits of a solar eclipse. The children used large Toilet roll tubes to dip into the paint and make their own sun and moon shaped pictures. ☀The babies started off with using the tubes, but eventually moved on to using their hands and paintbrushes. The babies got very creative and very messy as they explored the different colours.

Today the children have shown an interest in holidays and going to the airport 😎🏖✈

This morning, the children explored our small world airport together taking it turns to check the people in through the different areas of the airport. They even flew the planes down the run way to somewhere sunny 🌞

This afternoon, we furthured the children’s learning by setting our own airport and airplane for the children to go to the beach together. The children checked in their bags making sure there was no sharp objects like scissors in their bags using a torch to see clearly into the bag. After checking in their bags, we headed to everyone's faviourite part of the airport... DUTY FREE !!!! The children picked up the last minute essentials suncream, toys and of course a drink and snack for the plane. They were so yummy 😋

The children were handed their boarding passes that each had a seat number on, for the children to find when entering the plane. The children worked really hard to identify their number on their ticket to the right seat on the plane. When we all found our seats and got comfy our pilot Caitlin told the children about safety on the plane. We all had to put on ourseatbelts. Caitlin showed us what to do if anything goes wrong, she showed us the emergency exits and where to find our life jackets and oxygen mask. We then set off for the sunny beach looking for different things out the windows.

We have had so much fun together 🥰❤

Recently the children took a walk in the community. We walked all the way to the park to see the ducks 🦆. We stopped off at the shop for a tasty summer treat 🍦 and got some food for the ducks 🪶. After we had our picnic, we fed the ducks! The children were amazing as they used their listening ears and followed instructions from their grown up’s wonderfully! 😊
