We were incredibly proud to welcome REAch2 Academy Trust CEO, Cathie Paine, to our school last week for our “Drop Everything and Read” event. 📚
Cathie enjoyed a tour of the school, taking time to speak with staff and children about their experiences at Lower Farm. They shared highlights such as Enterprise Week, Sleeping Under the Stars, Dol-y-Moch (Year 6 Residential), and many of our exciting 11 before 11 promises.
Her visit ended in the best possible way - joining our Nursery class to drop everything and read!

🌟✨ Sleeping Under the Stars ✨🌟
As part of our ‘11 Before 11’ promises, our Year 5 pupils enjoyed a truly magical evening last Thursday with our Sleeping Under the Stars promise! 🏕️🌙
The school field was transformed into a campsite as the children embraced the excitement of an overnight adventure with their friends. With the night sky above them, it was the perfect opportunity to spark curiosity, build independence and create special memories together. 🌌💫
We were delighted to welcome back the fantastic volunteers from the Leicester Astronomical Society, who inspired everyone with their incredible knowledge and passion for space. Using powerful telescopes and fascinating equipment, they helped bring the universe closer than ever before! 🔭🪐
During the evening, the children:
✨ Explored the night sky, investigating the sun, moon and even other planets
🚀 Took part in hands-on, space-themed activities
🌠 Discovered amazing facts about planets, stars and beyond
🔥 Enjoyed time together sharing an incredible outdoor experience
It was a wonderful night filled with discovery - a perfect example of an 11 Before 11 promise that the children will remember for a long time.
A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff team and the brilliant volunteers from the Leicester Astronomical Society for making the experience so memorable for our pupils. ⭐

📚✨ World Book Day 2026! ✨📚
A little late sharing these… our page hasn't been playing nicely recently - sorry for the delay!
We had to show you the amazing classroom doors our staff created for World Book Day. Each door was decorated to celebrate a famous author or story, and the creativity on display was just brilliant! For those of you who have never seen our corridors, we LOVE books and already have numerous designs on our walls!

The children had a fantastic day immersed in books, stories, and the joy of reading. It was wonderful to see so many excited faces and to hear so much book talk around school. ❤️
We hope this enthusiasm continues at home too — reading for pleasure makes such a huge difference, and sharing stories together is one of the best parts of childhood.
Thank you to our staff for their hard work, and to our pupils for their endless enthusiasm for reading.
Happy Belated World Book Day! 🌟📖
