Acorn Class have completed their topic ‘Wild Things’ by holding a jungle day! The children dressed up as jungle animals and participated in jungle themed activities throughout the day.
The children practised moving like different animals at a costume show, baked jungle biscuits and completed an obstacle course, by stretching like giraffes, jumping like kangaroos, slithering like snakes and prowling like tigers. In addition to this, the children played animal themed parachute games and used their creative skills to transform egg cartons into their very own jungle scenes! 🐅🦓🦒🐘

Acorn Class have been commemorating and learning about Remembrance Day. We have learnt about poppies and discussed why people commemorate this day each year. The children have used their creative skills to make representations of poppies and have participated in a two minute silence, along with the rest of the school. As a treat for all their hard work over the summer term, the 'Little Growers' Club went on a visit to our lovely, local garden centre 'Oak's Nurseries'. They were so excited to go and see lots of different plants and flowers in the place where they are grown and sold. The children each got a little plant to take home, as a thank you for all their hard work over the summer term, and Keith, the owner, very kindly gave us a raspberry bush to bring back to school and plant. What a kind gesture!
The children have loved growing fruit, vegetables and flowers in our 'Little Growers Club'. They have grown things from seed and carefully looked after everything as it has grown thanks to the wonderful generosity of our PTA who funded everything from tools and seeds to compost and gardening gloves. As you can see from their smiling faces, we have had a brilliant time!
