Today marks the anniversary of the **Battle of Puebla** in 1862, when a vastly outnumbered Mexican army achieved a remarkable victory over French forces.

While it's often mistaken for Mexico's Independence Day, Cinco de Mayo is actually a powerful symbol of resistance and national pride.

Across the globe—especially in the United States 🇺🇸—this day is celebrated as a tribute to Mexican heritage, culture, and resilience. 🎉🎺🌮

This is a firm favourite topic in our lessons where we learn all about actions – run, swim, climb, jump and disappear!

Are you taking the kids to a Spanish speaking country? Why not sign them up to some fun Spanish lessons where they can learn greetings, numbers, food vocabulary and more?
We run school clubs at Hinckley Parks, Westfield Infants, Sketchley Hill and St Margaret’s.
For children who don’t go to those schools we also have our online classes.
